Michael Jordon, Martin Luther King Jr, Barack Obama and Cassius Marcellus Jr are real people and absolutely should be portrayed properly.

I do believe that with historical documentaries, historical dramas that are based on actual history, the people should absolutely be portrayed properly to maintain the integrity of history. Properly just doesn’t mean if they are black, a black actor should play them, or if they are white a white actor should play them. Historical facts surrounding their lives should be accurate as well.

I don’t need to live in a world of extremes where I must stick to one point. When dealing with fictional characters, story characters, musicals that are written for entertainment purposes and not for documenting actual history, I don’t think skin colour really matters.

Sorry that I can’t live up to the extreme view of it has to all be one way. It doesn’t. It’s my opinion and take it or leave it. I just happen to think things for entertainment purposes have more leeway. I will leave the extreme, non-flexible thinking to the bigots and racists.

Also, what about Shaft. Should a white person be able to play the part of Shaft. Remember: Shaft is a fictional character.

 

In the story of Snow White, it describes her as having "skin as white as snow."
