He is apparently not on the plane he was booked on to Cuba, There are empty seats booked in his name but he did not show up. I am not surprised. That plane even goes through US air space.

    So....mystery again.

Ecuador Embassy cars were seen on the runway before plane took off so now suspicions that he is possibly hiding in an area for crew - wouldn't take the US long to find that.

Ecuador does not have an extradition agreement with the US when it concerns political issues but they still have not given their answer to the public.

As I recall with Assange, it took like a month or two or longer for them to give an official response as to whether or not they would harbor him. Of course he was safe in their embassy during that time.

So maybe they won't tell us anytime soon.

In fact I recall speculating that they wouldn't actually say conclusively, while for all intents and purposes they were giving him safe haven from the day he stepped into the embassy anyway. So they could keep him there forever providing him shelter without "officially" providing safe-haven to anyone.

Maybe in this case we could find out much sooner but who knows.

there was a private jet for Snowden ready and waiting in Hong Kong so he would not be on a commercial flight that US could shoot down like they do to get to their targets

I think he is already in Ecuador and the FM is said to be giving presser soon from HANOI!!!

    would not be surprised.
RT has just shown the Ecuador Foreign minister speaking in Vietnam.

Ecuador has announced that they have received a letter from Snowden which they read.

Here is my notes on the Foreign Minister speaking.
In particular Snowden says the US is going against the 4th and 5th amendment and certain treaties of UN. He says he is in danger of, degrading and inhuman treatment, torture, imprisonment or even the death penalty for his political position. He believes he would not be treated fairly and asked for Asylum.

The gov of Ecuador puts The Universal Declaration of Human rights above all other considerations. They believe that the US should rather be explaining it's actions rather than trying to prosecute Snowden. The word treason has been used. Who does this refer to? Is it not treasonable to be involved in espionage that effects not just the people of the US but of the whole world? Is this a case of some elite being treasonable against the people of the whole world? Spoke of Iraq and the possibility of avoiding all the suffering which has happened. Do we commit treason against humanity or the elite of some country?

The Ecuador constitution protects privacy. Article 20 guarantees the identity and safety of people who say their opinion through the media or any form of communication. Article 40 speaks about human beings and their condition. No human being will be considered illegal because of condition about immigration, Article 41 The right of asylum and refugee is recognized and such people will have full protection which guarantees their rights and there will be no extradition

He speaks of the 1968 UN protection of fundamental rights regarding privacy and honour.

2 articles of the HRD which demand respect. Nobody will be subject to arbitrary intrusions in their private life. Everyone has the right to use the law against those attacks. Every human being has the right to freedom of speech and this includes not being attacked for the use of these rights. Also the 4th and 5th Amendment themselves deal with these issues.

    Ecuador is considering his application.

    Questions

Where is he and where is he going?

answer I can give no information about that. We don't have that information.

Question How would you deliver Snowden to Ecuador. Are you concerned about the impact on US Ecuador relations and the impact on the Ecuador economy

Ans. Cannot comment on the procedure if he came. Cannot speak on relationship with the US. We act on the principles of our Constitution. We do take into account the possibility of consequences but we go by our principles. The US has often received request particularly from bankers and I think he said judges for asylum and the US have decided in these instances not to extradite people who have committed crimes. Ecuador has the right to do this not because the US has done it to us but because our constitution is our guiding principles.

That judgement is not yours to make, it is your wishful thinking and may come back to haunt you one day.

I think people are hyping him too much. Does the US government want him to answer for his actions? Yes. Are they going to send assassins after him? No.

You guys are trying to dress him up to something more than he is.

Yeah, you're not anti-Semetic at all.

So you're saying the US would be more willing to shoot a commercial jet rather than a private jet with less people on it? That's (*)(*)(*)(*)ing stupid.

    Are you delighting in this?
