A special tax on wealthy Americans should pay for reparations, since they are the biggest beneficiaries today of slavery.

All of the wealth in America was made possible through the early work of slaves that built the United States, so it is only fair their decedents reap or inherit the fruits of those past labors that went uncompensated.

But that still doesn't mean I was responsible for that.

In fact, most nations were built on the backs of some group. While what whites did to the slaves was wrong, how long is society supposed to institute AA laws to make up for the past?

So Tiger Woods kids should get a Pell Grant, while my grandson becomes a janitor, because of something someone who looked a bit like me did over 100 Year ago?

And I should loose my house because of crimes done by another before I was born?

    No.... Period.

It won't work anyway, because the economy will collapse because we're selecting based on superficial factors, rather than talent.

Throw anyone who supports racial preferences out of public office. Period.

I don't owe Black people a damn thing.

Tone deaf? You misread the article. Your comment is not supported by the polling data discussed in the article. You ought to slow down and refrain from playing loose with poll data.

From the PDF file version of the Poll:

    Yet in ObamaCare:

Racial Preferences for College Admission in Obama Care

    http://www.americanthinker.com/2012/09/racial_preferences_in_obamacare.html

    THESE ARE FACTS!

Not my facts, those of ABC's Poll, and text taken straight from the ObamaCare Act itself.

Your continuing to argue against the plainly stated FACTS is only further evidence of the Left's Tone Deafness on Affirmative Action.

You think there's no-one in the Black sub-culture who doesn't feel their whole life was ruined by the effects of racist behavior, Protectionist? What you are really saying is that only your individual case really matters and everything else is secondary. I can see why you might feel that way but don't expect me to agree with you.

    Here is what you said:

"When you add all those together, it is around 76% of America who opposed AA Racial Preferences."

The poll data you cited does not come close to supporting that statement. You are playing loose with the data.

So you are cool with discrimination when it helps you? So you can rationalize in your mind why a high school dropout should pay taxes to help you make more money in the long run? That is cool right? What about the dropout who pays their taxes, works hard with their hands and asks nothing from government? Why don't they feel like they made less their whole life because they had to send money to people who wanted to make more money financed on their taxes?

As long people are being screwed by race based policies, irrespective of which race is the screwee and for what reason it is getting humped, race relations will be the "silent victim" of the gang bang. So instead of perpetuating this vicious circle jerk of atrocious nonsense, it therefore behooves ALL races to knock off their support of such race-based, discriminatory policies.

The dropout has to take responsibility for his/her actions. I think a lot of poor conservatives take issue with folks with educations and better jobs because of class envy. They are jealous of the success of others and blame school loans or college loans or affirmative action. They never think that if they had taken the time to get an education they would be on better footing. Ironically these poor conservatives look to the GOP, all the while the GOP looks down on them in more ways then one.

Why can't the college student take responsibility for their actions and pay their tuition? Is it because they are likely to make more money then non college educated kids? Is that why they need the subsidy?

NO, that that's NOT what I'm saying. That's what YOU'RE saying. What I'm saying (quite easy to comprehend) is that affirmative action is a hypocritical, evil, discrimination against hundreds of Millions of people, And it's hypocritical, because while the pushers of it say it's wrong to discriminate against blacks because of their color, they simultaneously say it's OK to racially discriminate, as long as the victims are White. FALSE! It is NOT OK, and it's illegal, as well as immoral.

NO, I'm not cool with it because it helped ME. I'm cool with it because it helped the poorer people who NEEDED that help the most, which I happened to be one of. BTW, I was a high school dropout before I went back to night school and got my high school diploma. After that, is when I went to college and got financial aid. So what about the dropout ? He could do what I did. m And tax $$ to support college financial aid is OFF TOPIC of this thread. Feel strongly enough about it ? Start your own thread.

I can't say what they will do with your applications. All I know is that's what they've been doing with mine, all my life (in 4 different states of the USA). It's especially bad in government job hiring, in which the hiring people are heavily ultra-liberal supporters of affirmative action, and many of them Black. I remeber once applying for a job at Stanford University in California, and I walked into the human resources office only to fing about a dozen people working in there > ALL Black women. One of them looked at me (a light-skinned White/Hispanic) and said, You thing you gonna git a job here ? Then they all laughed ? Then she said "Honey, y'all done took a wrong turn." The they all laughed again. I left knowing I wasn't gong to get hired there.

I'd be in favor of White people being paid reparations$$$ (in addition to elimination of AA), to compensate for all the money we've lost due to illegal and immoral racial discrimination. And it should be paid PERSONALLY by those who pushed these illegal/immoral AA programs, not from the govt treasury.

Slaves built the United States ? Yeah ? That sounds pretty stretched out. Take a look a some photographs or videos of World War II soldiers and sailors. Sure shows a lot of White faces don't they ? Lucky fo ryou they fought that war and won it, or you wouldn't be talking here now. And a whole lot of non-slaves built America. Mostly them.

You brought it up. Resume your thread, but you still took college class to make your own life better, just like African American scholarships, and it was paid for by people who did not get the advantage of the scholarship. Just like etc...etc... Pay it back in loans, or you are just as bad and rationalizing your reason for someone else's money.
