    1. We do a disservice when we call people draft dodgers when they use the rules of the time. However, I think Trump's father paid a doctor to say he was flat footed and that was not necessarily a disqualifying medical situation to avoid the draft either. However, with a totally volunteer army and no draft, we will see more and more politicians running for President who never served and yet have to deal with international events in which they may have to order troops into harms way. Such is life.

    2. It is not just the two major parties, but all political parties. The problem with third parties is that they are limited in their messaging or on a single broad issue. It is not a coalition of varying ideas that occur with the two major political parties.

    3. Biden was following that damn peace agreement that Trump signed that peace deal that gave Afghanistan to the Taliban. When Trump withdrew over 18k soldiers in the fall of 2020, we left all but some 350 personnel at the AFB outside Kabul When we left, he gave it to the current Afgan Government, that same government that fell within 48 hours before we left. Care to guess why that happened? Some 5000 prisoners that Trump released in November 2020.

    4. We have been facing a recruitment crisis since the 2010s. Obesity has some things to do with it, but more importantly, so does a robust economy. It has happened every year since 2011 or so. furthermore, a total of 100 persons in the military refused the Covid shot from Regular Army, Reserve, and NG. That's it. So the Covid shot has nothing to do with the lack of recruitment. There are no US troops in Ukraine, except maybe a few observers from SF. They are there to teach the Ukrainians how our equipment works, nothing more, nothing less. No combat, or actual combat is being performed. So, that is a fake argument. We do have combat troops in Poland and have had them since the Bush Administration. But there is general agreement with both Biden administration and the GOP not to send Combat Troops directly. But that may change if Russia attacks any NATO Country directly, like Finland, Latvia, Estonia, Lituania, or even Poland. But I don't think Putin is that stupid to do so.

I don't get Netflix, sorry, and I am not watching a TV show about telling stories that is mostly a cliff notes version of what they did. I have watched similar shows called the FBI Files and True FBI on my streaming service, Paramount Plus. If I want to learn about spycraft again, I will go to the Spy Museum in Washington DC first. But even that show does not prove your point at all when it comes to Army or any other uniform service that is facing recruitment issues.

If you are talking about Aganistan, AQ started it, we invaded, and had no exit strategy. For Iraq, Bush Jr did. Russia started the invasion with Ukraine. No one else.

No, of course he isn't a liar, he probably was charged for the equipment, and he probably was told to not bring certain equipment with him on the plane he left on. The US military charges soldiers for some of their equipment. The US military has never payed for the entirety of its soldiers' equipment, they grant them an allowance for their initial uniforms and such, however these allowances don't cover the cost of all equipment. This is especially true for extra gear and equipment. If a soldier was charged for equipment, that doesn't necessarily mean they were charged because they left it behind, and at no point does the soldier himself, or the article you provided make such a claim.

    1. You don't know how asthma works. The ARMY rejects you if you have it ;)
    2. The army rejected him, he didn't “dodge the draft”
    3. He has served his country for well over 50 years, you on the other hand are an “internet warrior”.

AGAIN, you are making things up. You ave been shown multiple times that Biden was handed very limited troops to secure the evacuation of Bagram airport. It has been debated multiple times and shown that Trump withdrew all but 2500 troops from Afghanistan literally 6 days before Biden took office. And that withdraw was expedited by Trump just days before Biden was to be inaugurated. He left 2500 soldiers on the field at that “insecure airport”, that was rendered “insecure” by Trump removing its protections.

    JFC, these are FACTS!!!!!!

My brother is the CSM of the Army Recruiting command, and you have no idea on what their challenges are, the least of which is because of “Joe Biden”. Stop making things up.

The military as a whole has been challenged in recruiting for years

FFS, Biden used student deferments for three years and then requested a deferment for claiming he had asthma when he was in high school (eight years earlier), of course he dodged the draft.
Biden has only served to enrich his family and is just another lifelong political leach.

Good grief, Biden had months to increase troop numbers if he felt the need, in August he finally did send in more troops.

LOL, you rarely deal with facts.

Good for you brother, must suck hearing about Biden from someone that is not just an internet warrior.

You my friend don't know what you don't know. And I don't think you or your brother have a clue how the draft worked during the Vietnam war. In 1969 I received an notice from the VA draft board to report for a pre-induction physical in Richmond. At the time I had asthma and was taking Theophylline, a bronchodilator. My having Asthma was reported at the physical on my medical history form I had to complete. And guess what, I was assigned a draft qualification of 1A. So having asthma I was classified 1A and Joe Biden, an athlete claiming to have asthma, but (as a star athlete likely lying) was classified 1Y. This means he could only be drafted in a national emergency. BTW, the selective service system during the Vietnam war was run at the State level by State draft boards, not the Army. The Army had nothing to do with drafting people or draft classifications. Biden likely used political connections in his State to dodge the draft. But however he did it, he is and was a draft dodger.

As far as what the Army rejected during this time period, my borther was drafted in 1968. He served with a soldier who could not run due to childhood polio but could type like a mofo. And at the time there was probably a critical need for clerk/typists. Surely Joe Biden could have performed clerical duties.

WTF? Biden delayed the withdrawal until Sept 11th, he later moved it up to Aug 31st. The only US military personnel to die in Afghanistan in 2021 were during Biden's clusterf*ck of an evacuation in August (seven months after he took office).

A bombing at a gate at Kabul’s international airport killed 11 U.S. Marines, one soldier, one Navy corpsman and dozens of Afghan civilians Thursday, throwing the final days of a U.S.-led evacuation effort into chaos and fulfilling a nightmare scenario President Biden’s top aides had desperately sought to avoid.

The explosion, which also wounded 18 Americans and scores of Afghans, came as the United States and other Western nations rushed to complete the evacuation of tens of thousands of citizens and Afghan allies ahead of an Aug. 31 deadline.

The Kabul Airport was fully evacuated on august 20th. With….wait for it….wait for it ,only 2500 soldiers left in the country because…..AGAIN……Trump drew down those forces before Biden took office.

Biden was left with a choice to re-engage, or to follow the military evacuation plan with less than 1/4 of the forces required to succeed. FTR, US citizens were lifted out first, then foreign nationals from other countries after that.

Trump withdrew down to 2500 6 days before he left office. Why did he do that ? Seriously, why did he do that knowing that it would put US lives at risk, and even more he knew that the Kabul Airport was the only place they could get afghani civilians and other foreign citizens out ? Why did he accelerate the plan to evacuate by 3 months, just 6 days before his term ended, by taking the full contingent of american troops that were there in Kabul to protect the withdrawl/evacuation ? Oh yeah, he knew it would create a political nightmare for Biden by giving him the choice to ether replace american troops, which was very unpopular in america, or he could stay and try to get all the other foreign civilians, or he could get the Americans out and let those foreigners die.

Trump owns this one completely. Im glad you support innocents dying so Trump could score some political points

We are rehashing this because soldiers that were pulled under the Biden administration and then told they had to leave their equipment behind happened under Biden.

Trump had zero to do with this situation or discussion.

    Zilch. Nada. None.

The "but Trump" non-sense shows how ridiculous it is right here.b

So... the Biden Administration did zero planning related to the withdrawal?

Trying to blame Trump for any portion of this just shows exactly how partisan some of you are.

There is zero opportunity for "but Trump" non-sense here, yet that's what we get.

Time to own up. Biden blew the withdrawal, and now he is getting more backlash as a result of thay failure. Time to buck up buttercup and own it.

Good grief, Biden had months to do whatever he wanted, in fact he did move troops in before his clusterf*ck withdrawal.

KABUL, Afghanistan — The Pentagon is moving 3,000 Marines and soldiers to Afghanistan and another 4,000 troops to the region to evacuate most of the American Embassy and U.S. citizens in Kabul, as the Biden administration braces for a possible collapse of the Afghan government within the next month, administration and military officials said.

U.S. Is Sending 3,000 Troops Back to Afghanistan to Begin Evacuations - The New York Times (nytimes.com)

Biden chose to change the withdrawal date, he also brought in more troops.

The agreement signed on Feb. 29th 2020 stated they would be out in fourteen months, seriously where do you get your news? lol

The United States is committed to withdraw from Afghanistan all military forces of the United States, its allies, and Coalition partners, including all non-diplomatic civilian personnel, private security contractors, trainers, advisors, and supporting services personnel within fourteen (14) months following announcement of this agreement, and will take the following measures in this regard:

    Microsoft Word - 10_v1-T_Draft Text [English - 20200229] - Edited (For State).docx

    The innocents are on Biden.

The debacle of the US defeat and chaotic retreat in Afghanistan is a political disaster for Joe Biden, whose failure to orchestrate an urgent and orderly exit will further rock a presidency plagued by crises and stain his legacy.
    *
Biden’s judgment as commander-in-chief is being called into question since he is on record, in damning video footage, saying that the Taliban’s victory was “not inevitable.” He said there would be no Saigon-style pictures of helicopters lifting off the roof of the US embassy in Kabul. That exact scenario unfolded this weekend after the US rushed to get its people out, and the Stars and Stripes was run down the flagpole as the fundamentalist militia routed by the United States in 2001, surged back into the Afghan capital.

Biden was at Camp David all weekend and did not speak to the American people on camera. He did release a paper statement justifying his decision to leave Afghanistan, in which he spoke, misleadingly, about an “orderly” evacuation. And photos of Biden in a secure conference room at the presidential retreat, in a polo shirt, speaking with officials on screen, hardly promoted the intended image of an engaged commander-in-chief.

Never said that. There was planning to the withdrawal, but if you think withdrawals are done orderly, then you are believing too much in the movies. You may want to look at the 1975 when we finally left Vietnam for good. It was hectic, chaotic, and so forth. We left from the top of the Embassy building in a helicopter while they were banging on the door to the roof. Anmd so it was with Afghanistan, in full Maj. Burns video from any and all sources.

But the withdrawal was based on the US-Taliban agreement that Trump signed. Nothing more, nothing less. And with Trump releasing some 5000 prisoners in November, and the fall of the Afghan Government as we were leaving, put two and two together. Trump thought they would last a year. Most experts said they would not last one month once we left. No one predicted the Afgan government would fall within 48 hours once we decided to leave. And that is what happened.

Biden and any other politician, both GOP and Democrat, who spent 50 years in public office served this country. Any rank-and-file civilian federal employee who spends 30 years in public service also serves this country and most do it with distinction and proud of their service. They are not recognized as often as our military veterans who have served though. As Washington wrote to Benedict Arnold, every post is honorable. And thus, Biden has served and is serving the country. Now, what you are obfuscating is whether you agree with his policies or political decisions. That's fine, disagree with them, but don't call the disagreement that the "country is serving him." That is completely disingenuous.

It really depends on the times, doesn't it. In WW2, even those who had heart problems in the 1940s were given 1A status by the local draft boards. Those draft boards pretty much got the ordinary citizens and even the rich citizens in WW2, not so much during the Vietnam War. Oh hell, McNamara even lowered the IQ standards where you had plenty of "Forrest Gumps and Bubba's" joining and going through the basic combat training during that time. But if you look at the analysis, that was a major mistake and the military had to take extra time to train those with lower IQ scores than the average American.

You also may want to look at Diabetes. My brother is Type 1 diabetic since the age of 10. He wanted to serve. But he couldn't. Type 2 diabetes may serve, but there are strict requirements to do so and it can only be in the professional corps such as legalaid, lawyer, doctor, etc. What they cannot do is go into active combat situations. But we made exemptions of that from time to time, such as Vietnam and your brother. If we were not in Vietnam, your brother would have been flatly rejected to join.

However, that has nothing to do with today or the past 20 years in which all military branches have faced recruitment shortages no matter who is President. The military didn't meet its quotas during the Trump Administration either. Thus it is not about politics or who is POTUS. It is something much more subtle that you refuse to believe.

Our nation on the individual level is fatter, more mentally ill, more depressed, and weaker than ever before. The shortage of viable candidates for military has gotten worse. And of the few capable, there are fewer willing.

And yet, there is no evidence to that at all, not from the bank records where no money from Hunter ever went to Joe Biden at all, at least not directly. The distributable share of income from a Partnership or S Corp does not mean he enrinched himself. It simply means he was a member of the family business and received that distributable share of income per the tax code. That's it. And if you look at the Schedule E of Joe Biden's tax return for that particular family business, I do believe it was listed as passive income, not nonpassive, as in active income.
