    I was in a courtroom once where a guy requested a public defender. The judge asked for a list of his assets ahead of the hearing, with that list in hand he told the guy to sell his car, his watch, his tools and other items. It’s expensive to put up a defense and it’s literally an attack on someone when the charges are political or bogus.

    Actually, no. PDs mostly negotiate plea deals and don’t really defend unless it’s a high profile case.m

    So if Trump is capable of paying his legal bills, why would Florida Republicans use state funds to pay his legal bills? Is this some MAGASocialism?

    What if someone qualifies as what you define as a trump supporter but doesn't really support this?

    Sound like some BS red state policies. If a judge or appeals court finds the charges had no basis, I’m fine with repaying him for legal fees. I think there is only one case that is shaky enough for that to be an issue.

    Why would they?

    If Trump wants the government to pay, he can ask for a state-appointed lawyer. The constitution says you can have a free defense if you choose. It does not say you get to choose your lawyer if you are using tax payer dollars.

    Now, please explain why Trump is above the constitution.
