I saw this movie and I think it is an excellent film.

I'm happy that the Academy awarded "Spotlight" with the Best Picture Oscar.

Do you agree with the Academy on bestowing "Spotlight" with the Best Picture Oscar?

The only movie I saw last year that actually struck a nerve. Good movie, well deserved honor.

The Vatican itself has proclaimed the film is not in and of itself anti-Catholic, and without a doubt the conspiracy to cover-up and protect pedophilia within the priesthood was immoral. No excuses about that.

Nevertheless there is no compelling evidence that the rate of pedophilia within the Catholic priesthood exceeds that of other religitious clergy or the population at large. Doesn't excuse it of course, but the scandal did cast a very broad net over Catholicism and eventually became fodder for one-liners in many stand-up routines. "Did you hear the one about the priest..."

    Was it wrong?
    Of course.
Is this crime exclusive to Catholic clergy.
    It isn't.

No more than Penn State itself should be blamed for Jerry Sanduskey.

Was it a good film...yes it was. As a Catholic, it was painful to watch, but the film itself was good....
    note...good...not great.

Is it the best film of the year as implied by an Oscar win?

    No.

Let's take a look at who produced "Spot Light."

    Steve Golin,
    Michael Sugar,
    Michael Bederman,
    Blye Pagon Faust,
    Nicole Rocklin

At least four of which are members of "The Tribe"....

    Jewish.

    Hollywood itself is disproportionately Jewish.

Now I'll get the "bigot" and "racist" rants, for saying that, but I'm merely stating fact. As an overall representative of the population at large...less than 1/2 of 1 percent...Hollywood is represented by 20 - 30% of "The Tribe."

Keep in mind, the very roots of anti-semitism stem from Jewish law which forbade charging usury, or interest as it were to a fellow Jewish person, but Gentiles meanwhile...the non-Jewish..were fair game. Meanwhile, Christianity, and we see evidence of this in the Magna Carta...forbit charging usury..period. The Catholic Church forbid usury, and the Koran forbid usury..the Jewish Torah forbid usury. with one caveat...if you weren't a member of "The Tribe" well you're fair game to be charged interest on a loan.

So a lot of animosity develped towards Jewish merchants and culminated in tthe conspiracy that they control the World's banks...etc.

Frankly, most of that is bunk, but Jews will take care of their own..which is all this Academy awards really are.

See how bad Catholics are, the priests are all pedophiles!

    Picture of the Year!

I doubt we will ever see a film centered on the response of the Haredi Jewish community in Brooklyn, New York City, to allegations of sexual abuse against its spiritual leaders that has drawn scrutiny.

"The Tribe" would never rat out their own..only the gentile is fair game.
