Did 3D make it suck any less? Cover up for the poor acting and choppy dialog?

I don't 'get' 3d....I may be weird but I can never tell the difference when I am watching 3d versus regular. they look the same, the 3d just makes me wear glasses to see it.

I do feel a little like the boy in "The Emporer Has No Clothes"...

It would be fun though to see the Phantom Menace on the big screen again though or any of the Star Wars...it is how they were meant to be seen..

the movie never sucked, just a bunch of haters and fanboys made it out like it did. I has great scifi dialogue and great 50's style acting, maybe that's what you mean? Ever seen Buck Rogers?

Is 50's style acting code for sucked?

Dude, the dialog was poorly written. the acting was terrible. Sam Jackson was far too subdued. Liam Neeson was monotone and boring. That little kid I wanted to see on a milk carton. Jummiy Smits, well, who puts Jimmy Smits in a Star Wars movie? The story itself was beyond idiotic, into the realm of just plain silly.

Face it. Lucas was far more concerned about being clever and tying these characters all together over multiple generation than he was with acting. The last movie that had a smidgen of acting in it that Lucas directed was American Graffiti.

Waste of time and $$$ seeing the 3D version.

1 - none of the special effects were jumping off the screen at me.
2- with the 3D glasses on, it made the movie darker, so the colors weren’t as vibrant.

You are better off buying the bluray disks and watching it on a 60 inch high def.

No you aren't. I have the bluray set, got it the first day it came out. Say it on a television. 40 inch+..that will never compare to the size of a movie theater.

the 3D was not supposed to jump at you...its just for effect. you may be watching 3D movies wrong, you have to look behind the character in the front, if you aren't...then you wont see the effect. look at the background, not at the character in front talking..that's why it didn't work for you...its NOT a waster of money..its the best life experience one could ever have rs.

I'll have to check it out. I just watched "Forbidden Planet" this weekend - again. That was a pretty spiffy sci-fi for the 50s. Anne Francis had a great bod... lol

    I hate 3d.

And Anne Francis would be called fat by today's standards.

    I don't agree with that.

That was your complaint?! How about (*)(*)(*)(*)ing Jar-Jar?

No way! I got bamboozled into seeing the 2D version on opening night. That thing sucked a big one. The truly sad thing is it could have been sooooo much better. I had such high hopes.

Jar Jar wasn't that bad. People just love to overreact to make a point.

He wasn't all that great either though.

The sad part is knowing that he's responsible for helping the Emergency powers bill gain momentum and approval in the Senate.

(*)(*)(*)(*) George Lucas. How dare he make Episodes 1-3 big piles of (*)(*)(*)(*) that they were.

Hopefully Episodes 4 and 5 will be in 3D though. I will see those two. Episode 6 was just so-so.

I actually, always liked Jar Jar Binks. Never had a problem with him, people who hate Jar jar are secret racists.
