No, I think you are the one who has lost track of what the opening post was about.

This should be obvious to even you.

It was on topic because it is integral to the issue of child support payments. I only quickly mentioned it and didn't even say anything that should have been disputed or controversial.

I don't know why you make posts like that.

    You're being silly and ridiculous.
The question was whether fathers have to make payments. I just quickly brought up the fact that fathers do not have to make payments if the woman chooses to give the baby up for adoption. I do not think that is off topic.
I guess I could see how you might assume that might be off topic if you think it should have been obvious. But the question the original poster is asking should also have been obvious too, so maybe this fact would not have been obvious to them.

No states "make" the bio dad pay. The courts can attach his wages, prevent him from getting a drivers license, and even put him in jail. They can't make him pay. He can work under the table, drink with his buddies every night and never pay a penny.

So bottom line is that it is likely that the mother will be legally responsible for paying for the next 18 years and possibly prevented from working at what she had wanted to do.
I suppose the witchfinders will be content that she has been punished and he may not be.

Ultimately, the tax payers will pick up the tab. How is she being punished?

Well that she is not easily going to be free 6o run her own life, and will ultimately be financially responsible for her child for 18 years I would think the answer is self evident.

I don't understand. I was raised by a single mother on Welfare with no help from my deadbeat dad. Do you have kids?
