State-Owned Companies Coming To America?

Reading this thread I don't think you people have a clue as to what yo are talkng about. Nobody has mentioned th word socialism. In China companies are not owned by people, they are owned by te gov't. Just like in Russia. The reason American companies cannot compete with a chinese company is profit. Here the reason for having a company is to make money for the owners or shareholders . In china a company is owned by the gov't and operates like a non-profit here. The purpose of a factory is to produce a product that is needed, and to provide jobs as opposed to making profit. So, when you take the profit out of the picture, you can sell te product at a cheaper price. Add the fact that they work for cheaper wages and it becomes clear as to why they can sell their products so cheap and why we cannot compete with them. Also, in China companies don't have to compete, Gov't run business have a monopoly. They do not rely on competition to keep prices low, they rely on the govl't settng prices to do that(socialism). Socialist countries do not operate under free enterprise. If they can produce an item they will not allow it to be inported. They will produce it themselves to provide jobs for their people. Here we buy whereever we can to get the cheapest price. Thats why everything you see says MADE IN CHINA on it. Competetion no longer sems to be working here to keep prices down(just look at gasoline) one station raises price, within an hour, evey station in town has raised. But..... when you start talking about the gov't owning buisnesses or controlling prices, you are talking socialism, which is a dirty word to a conservative.

But they are profiting, at their financial standard. And they are building their army and navy at our expense something the greedy just don't care about or are not grasping the consequences of.


We are financing communism, and communist nations that are our sworn enemies.
There is a point when these corporate entities are reaching the level of treason, when they turn their backs on their own countries best interest and destroying our economy in the process. So a billionaire will only get 150 million instead of 1 billion, there are more important things than money.

Those companies were the beneficiaries of a Socialist relief package, with which many of us vehemently disagreed. That does not make them Socialist, or Communist. They have shareholders in the private sector; their profits go to them.

 

Pay attention, liberalminority: this is your supposed intellectual brethren. Socialists are harnessing liberals, because you will give them exactly what they want.

It's apparent that you see this, and object to it, and that's a good thing.

 

Socialism is better alternative than is capitalism for capitalism is designed to ensure the wealthy rule over the masses and pay nothing to the state.

But that isn't capitalism, it's a cronyism, plutocracy. Exactly what we have now. Capitalism started deteriorating in the late 50's and our government was completely corporate controlled by the mid 1980's. The deterioration of our economy here in the good old USA is a direct result of the best government corporate money can buy.

 

I remeber the Goldwater election of 1964. I was in High School and didnt really care one way or the other.

 

Both parties turned on him just like they are doing with the only "true" conservative running today. Conserving the constitution and the American way of life conflicts with both parties priorities of self interest.

 

That is why the US must become socialist so that it does not have to fund Socialism abroad in China.

I don't know about where you live but illegal immigrants around here are doing pretty well. In fact they are generally the sharpest dressers around. More likely than not they have their own automobile, a roof over their head, indoor plumbing, and ample food on the table. The average Chinese rural peasant has none of those things.

Furthermore, the average worker in Mexico makes MORE than the average Chinese worker. The fact that even that relatively superior existence isn't adequate to them is what brings them to the US in the first place.

You want Chinese style government then go move to China, don't try and force it on other people who don't want or deserve that type of meager existence and squalor.
