The military is a whole different matter. They have, as they should, the authority to mandate certain medications and vaccinations be taken. So far as I know it has always been that way. I know when I went in, I had to get some vaccines, but I couldn't tell me to save my life exactly what they were. On the other hand, I was also free to not join, and therefore to not subject myself to that. Freedom, one way or the other.

That said, when you agree to voluntarily join the military, you are potentially exposing yourself to results much worse than taking a jab, as the check you write is a blank one.
