The video is very short but the best part of the link is the comments section where you can find beauties like this: "MommaGrizzley 2 days ago parent − I quit watching ABC, NBC, CBS & CNN during the 2008 election campaign when their bias was as flagrant as the flaming queens at a gay pride parade."
People don't trust the media... Gallup: Only 8% of Americans Have 'Great Deal' of Trust in News Media--a New Low September 21, 2012 -Only 8 percent of Americans say they have a "great deal" of trust in the news media, according to a new Gallup poll.
One of the achievements of the propaganda system is that it convinced most Americans that the media has a liberal bias but as Noam Chomsky put it:
Today's news sources often blur the lines between real news and opinion. The overall problem is that much of the mainstream media is corporate owned. This isn't to say that corporations are bad or evil, but it is perfectly natural that a corporate entity that owns any form of media is going to run into conflicts of interest (news that damages business associations with the corporate entity). It happens all the time. The motivation for bias, I think, is money driven. Cater to a specific audience by reporting news and distributing opinion that will certainly incite a reaction. Political news stories are often exploited pieces of worked journalism, meant to rile up their intended audience. Political news and commentary, from both sides, has become just as staged as reality television. Many of the mainstream media outlets are guilty of this to certain extents (some more then others).
A prominent member of the Clinton Administration turned journalist claims there's no media bias? ROTFLMAO
I have never bought into the liberal bias theory conservatives claim. But I tend to avoid Fox and MSNBC unless I am looking for entertainment.
I don't know if there is a liberal media bias or not, but it's not like conservatives can't afford their own media. Quit outsourcing your media and get back in the game.
I don't mind media bias if it's obvious and if neutrality is not claimed. That said, our media is biased, and claims neutrality. (and, no, I don't watch Fox news, I get my news from ABC and NPR). NPR is neutral in their news coverage (not so much in their commentary which is very liberal). ABC not so much. News programs should be neutral. Opinion programs should be biased.
You want to make some laws to enforce this before things get worse? I think that is the thinking behind the opposition to the AmericansUnited case in the Supreme Court - I see Al Franken is an opposition sponsor in my Google Ads.
Not laws, but I do think conservatives need to speak with our dollars. Fox News is the highest rated network. The others are quickly falling.
And Staphylococcus is still a vapid twit, the guy who specializes in nodding and saying nothing when the conservative he just lobbed a softball at tells a big whopper in reply. You'd think conservatives would appreciate how Staph is so much easier on them than a terrifying vicious wolverine like Katy Couric. Anyways, liberals want to keep Staph out of the debates. Because he's a vapid twit.
