Killing this bill should be a bipartisan act and we need to spotlight the people sponsoring and promoting this garbage so we can punish them politically.

And I'm suspicious of people that see everything through a partisan prism.
Does Rand Paul seem suspicious or socialistic to you? He happens to be one of the people sounding the alarm. http://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkai...est-threat-to-civil-liberties-americans-face/

What you need to know is Carl Levin and John McCain are behind this mess and idiots like Al Franken said the bill "denigrates the very foundations of this country", and then turned around and voted for it. What a moron!

Leon Pannetta and David Patreus both oppose the bill and if the military and intelligence communities think this bill is a good thing, someone forgot to tell them. http://www.wired.com/dangerroom/2011/12/senate-military-detention/

If you like the idea that you can be arrested on someone's say so and locked away indefinitely without a trial then you don't like America and our constitution (just like John McCain and Levin) and you'd be more comfortable in Saddam Hussein's Iraq.

I agree with your sentiments. I cannot believe a person would refrain from opposing this bill out of partisanship. Partisanship doesn't matter with this action, this is a lack of political efficacy.

    A) I'm not looking at it through a partisan prism. I'm looking AT a partisan prism.
B)It's that keyword that makes me cringe. "non partisan"
C)If you go back and look at my post you will find that it was very carefully worded. I was intentionally not taking a specific position on the bill . I haven't read it yet. Have you?

I'm bumping this thread. Don't let it get buried by the usual suspects. This bill wont be defeated, but it can be used as to getting 300 million people locked and loaded. If our million man army can't hold down stone throwing nations, they sure as hell can't hold down us. Death to the globalists.

May I please go back to my cage the Government issued to protect me with against evil people? I know I'm trading some Liberty but, it will prolong my life in the end... Just wish they padded the walls or put me in a straitjacket to insure my total safety.

Yes, this bill is absolutely bat (*)(*)(*)(*) crazy. The government has no need to expand it's powers in such a manner. The existing structure has prevented a multitude of terror attempts/plots. There is no need to grant the Federal government with the power to send it's federal troops on citizens private property without warrant to detain them indefinitely without trial. It's 100% insane.

I hear what you're saying. I find in my day-to-day experiences more Americans are afraid of the government, or don't want to look looney, than don't know what's going on. Honestly, millions of Americans are preparing themselves for war against the globalist controlled government, regardless of ideology, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, etc. They are just doing it on a personal basis. Introvert, so to speak. To believe the majority can't see what is obvious at this point would be absurd. The only time all of Washington can agree to pass a piece of legislation, is when it's a piece of legislation all outside of Washington don't want them to pass. Nowhere in history can that be construed as "representation". And remember, above all else, that is why our 1st revolution was fought. What will happen next is simply a war of two rules of thumb, "beaten into submission" vs "the straw the broke the camel's back".
