It's good to see such strong support for gays rights coming from a major athlete like this. It sets a positive trend.
I've heard several professional athletes say that they are sick and tired of everyone assuming they're homophobic just because they're athletes. I get where they're coming from. I've had people just assume I'm homophobic because I'm heterosexual and nothing could be further from the truth.
Marriage has been defined as a civil right by the supreme court in numerous cases. Perhaps some research before you accuse others of lying.
Cons have trouble understanding that the Supreme Court has the authority to make law in any case that is brought before them, as long as their decisions do not violate something written in the constitution.
you're spot on. This is about creating a new gender for those who have gay sex and to legislate thought. Prove you are gay next, prove you are male or female the difference is stark yet the militant movement wants to make how one has sex be equivalent to gender oh, to the gay posters, the dislike is the one on the right; have at it
Same sex marriage wouldn't have a requirement to prove that you're gay any more than opposite-sex marriage requires you to prove you're straight. Anyway, this thread isn't about the rights and wrongs of gay marriage, it's about the rights and wrongs of an elected politician putting pressure on the owners of a sports team to prevent their employees from expressing their free speech.
Oh I didn't know you had to prove you were heterosexual to get married. Thanks for clearing that up. Haven't made an argument yet Sec.
In any case, it is only a matter of time before homosexual couples are allowed to marry in all States. As I've inferred before, we know the discriminatory laws of the past... but I and many others look forward to removing that discrimination in the future. That is going to happen.
In your limited opinion, it is. Whatever words/verbiage you wish to apply to apply... the laws WILL eventually change.
Use of the word marriage makes that very distinction. Got anything other than that personal emotions and hormones to support your assertions?...... I didnt think so.
MMA is where gays will be accepted first in sports. The gay movement is in desperate need of a openly gay, dominate, MMA fighter. He would just need to find the right gym to work in. MMA isn't a team sport so this removes that aspect, and many stereotypes would be completely destroyed by MMA champion that was gay. Lets see some of you gay haters, call a gay Brock Lesnar a fairy.
Great. Now I'm gonna have to start being a Ravens fan and a Vikings fan. *shakes head* Hard enough to wrap my head around the fact that Peyton plays for Denver! Loved, loved, loved the letter in the OP.
It has as much (or little) to do with having sex as heterosexual marriage does. You don't marry to have sex. It is about the right to love and share your love with another person and be able to enjoy the same rights as a man/woman. Equality, ya know...i
From your own source, human rights, not heterosexual rights. Also I would like to point out that this dealt with STERILIZATION of prisoners.
