A good example of never allowing others to interfere in a mothers decisions, It is wrong.

Not a duck, a swan, but it shows the level of reasoning of the right.

Well, sorry for not being an expert ornithologist, but I do agree that the right ignores reason, often very explicitly too as they, especially when it comes to abortion, use their religious beliefs as the basis of their argument.

Unborn humans is an anti-concept. It means absolutely nothing.

Your great, great, great, great, great, great grandkids are "uNbOrn hUmAnS" too and I am not afraid to say that the born take precedence over those that are not born. Claiming the opposite is just nuts.

The only way this story can equate to a human is if a woman is pregnant and then someone comes along and forces an abortion on her.
Swans are animals, they rely on instinct. They do not have the ability for abstract thought or reason.
This swan was depressed because she could not be any other way. It is hard wired into her that having eggs and chicks is her purpose. She cannot think about the future in any meaningful way.

A human, on the other hand, can understand the implications of having a baby they cannot care for. They can reason out the options between giving birth or having an abortion. The human can make a choice.

    Amen.

Humans can also detect when the mother's health is at risk, when the fetus can not grow to being a functioning human being free of constant pain, etc. Humans have information the swan can not even dream about.

As you point out, the swan can only witness the death - which humans absolutely mourn as well.

They have. I dont know if Swans do, but I would think its not unlikely.

Are you joking? Even more primitive species than swans can understand the implications you are pointing at. Even mothers can select younglings they consider to be too weak for survival as a waste of energy they should put into the younglings which have a chance to survive and deny them food/support etc.

If you want to put it that way they even make a post-natal abortion. Among humans you would consider it murder. Of course many animals can get the concept.
