WE also decided that the women of our society/countries would also not have rights. It wasn't until the women started doing something about it that this eventually changed for us.

You can't disreguard the consequences... Especially when it is an automatic death sentence. There is no chance for the movement to grow that way.

On a side note... I know you are playing devils advocate again, but please give it a rest. It may be fun for you buit it's quite a bore to me. Just come out and say what you really think.

 

That's how almost all societies have grown to the way they are today.
Do you think our advance from our roots as barbarian and depot rulers to democratic society would have been "allowed" by those rulers? Even if we look in recent history to black rights, there were many lynchings and other harmful attacks on black people. If anything, I would suggest this encouraged them more!

The US is no stranger to punishment by death just because you stepped out of line and asked for more rights than you were deemed to be allowed.

Hint: I think the same way as you. I wouldn't get to explore the issue if we all just agreed on one side; very boring. My POV may not be the correct one either - ust the one I believe in. Exploring means I find if it is correct, and even have the chance to change my opinion!

but I do feel that real change has to happen from within their own country - I feel that any assistance we try to give will always be looked down upon and resisted *generally*; I won't try to decide why, that's a whole can of worms that can only be experienced from their side.
