ummmmm just to be clear George Bush's vacation days arent technically all vacation days. he spent his time at his Ranch during his presidency where he had meetings at his home and such and conducted business out of it and his staff often joined him. in other words he worked from his ranch while he was there.

the only reason Bush's vacation days are so high is because they consider it a vacation day if you are staying at another address. its a technicality.

but lets also ask how much tax dollars were spent between Obama and Michelles vacations? im betting alot more than what both Bush's cost us together.

Yet another thread in which our conservative members demonstrate their unbelievable gullibility with yet another cluster (*)(*)(*)(*) bash Obama thread based on yet another ridiculously false story.

How many of these have we seen over the past couple years where folks have come on and made fools of themselves blathering about a completely silly story? that turns out to be false?

But it never seems to slow them down for the next time, does it?

    $16 muffins? No, says Hilton

once again, since the true ordeal was these politicians were being catered every day to a continental breakfast at $15 a head, why during this time were they being served on our tax dollars when we pay them a salary?

are they incapable of buying their own lunch on their own dime or making it in the morning? or is it necessary they are treated off money we dont have?

and this goes out to every politician in the whole country during this time of bad economic stability and with so many people out of jobs, not just Obama and his ilk.

is it too much to ask that they stop being (*)(*)(*)(*)ing babied on everything they do or everywhere they go? they already take up tax dollars by being provided vehicles, eventhough they can drive their own. they get free meals on our dime eventhough they have more than enough money to buy their own. they get security, limos, personal assistants to tell them what to wear, and anything else you can name on our tax dollar and they only work on average 5 or 6 hour days maybe 2 weeks out of every month.

when is it enough? seems to me all politicians care about these days is getting into office to make a bull(*)(*)(*)(*) speech every now and then and get pampered on our dime the rest of the time they are in office.

meanwhile ordinary citizens all over the country cant even afford $15 for one person in the family to eat a (*)(*)(*)(*)ed continental breakfast.

i think this is something both cons and libs should be able to agree on.

So you figure that when the Justice Department has a conference they should all bring a box lunch?

And that's because corporate America is so heavily taxed their bringing box lunches to conferences, right? Or maybe it was because during the Reagan and Bush administrations they brought box lunches, right?

But what does that have to do with this being yet another ridiculous cluster (*)(*)(*)(*) false bash Obama story?

yeah they should, we pay them quite well and in this time of economic stress on our country i think it wouldnt be too much to ask that they spend their own (*)(*)(*)(*)ed money? i have to buy my own food, nobody pays for my (*)(*)(*)(*) as i have to use the money i work for, so why cant they? i make a considerable amount less than those people, im sure they can (*)(*)(*)(*)in swing it.

and ocne again im talking about all policitians, so shut the hell up with this "Bush did it BS" . im talking both ******* and conartist politicians.

and according to your own article its not bull(*)(*)(*)(*). maybe you should read the ending of the first article where they got that total for the cost of a muffin..

oh wait ill put it right here for ya :)

    http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2011/...20110480.shtml

"On Thursday night, IG spokesman Jay Lerner said that "we stand by our report."

In its report, the IG's office said the cost of the muffins was one of many food items that "appeared extravagant and potentially wasteful."

"Many individual food and beverage items listed on conference invoices and paid by the" Executive Office for Immigration Review for a legal training conference "were very costly," said the IG report. "The EOIR spent $4,200 on 250 muffins and $2,880 on 300 cookies and brownies. By itemizing these costs, we determined that, with service and gratuity, muffins cost over $16 each and cookies and brownies cost almost $10 each." "

hmmmmmmm whats $4200 divided by 250???? yeah that would be $16.80 a muffin. so yeah the story was false, they paid (*)(*)(*)(*) near $17 a (*)(*)(*)(*)ing muffin.

    so again, you are wrong.

DOJ lawyers probably make 1/2 - 1/3 of what private practice lawyers make. Govt executives make only a fraction of their private sector counterparts. The president probably makes 1/1000 of what top CEOs in corporate america make.

Do you want to have even dumber people in govt?

nope, i want people in government who have a lick of (*)(*)(*)(*)ing common sense and decency. aint no reason they cant buy their own food to help save our tax dollars for something important.

and the president makes $200k a year while not having to pay for (*)(*)(*)(*) and will recieve a pension for the rest of his life for at the most 8 years of "work". you expect me to feel sorry for him?

No, I expect you to understand that if you want to compensate government executives like office clerks, then you should expect to get office clerk caliber people in executive government positions.

wrong. go back and read. there wasnt just muffins correct, there were also brownies and cookies and such. but the price paid for the amount of food is where they got the averages such as $16/muffin.

Iriemons own source worked against him and your claim. why dont you read your own sources rather than just the headlines.

The OP claimed that they were paying $16 a muffin. That was outrageous.

$16 a person for a continental breakfast in a hotel in a big city is not usual at all.

and your own source worked against you where they were basically paying $16 a muffin. once again they spent $4200 on 250 muffins, that amounts to $16.80 per muffin. and also another $2000 on 200 cookies and brownies.

either way they felt the need to pay using tax dollars, which is wasteful. want to buy a $16 continental breakfast or a $16 muffin? buy it your god (*)(*)(*)(*) self. they subject is wasteful spending when you get down to it. it simply has to stop whether its a liberal driving around a tax dollar funded cadillac or a conservative getting meals catered to him and his buddies via tax dollars.

i dont care, (*)(*)(*)(*)s got to stop. WE ARE BROKE!!!!

dude you are missing the point, and ill say it again.

whether or not the government used the money to buy $16 muffins for everyone or paid $16 a head for a continental breakfast for everyone its still the same wasteful spending no matter how you try and spin it.

if you dont get that i dont know what else to tell you.

No one gets excited because they had some freaking muffins and fruit and cookies and coffee at a hotel convention.

The thing that our conservative friends jumped up and down screaming about were $16 muffins.

Which as usual, was just another false Obama cluster (*)(*)(*)(*) bash.

still doesnt escape the point that government money was used wastefully on something they should be providing for on their own dollar, not ours.

and once again, since they spent $4200 on 250 muffins they did pay $16 a muffin. thats from your own source and from the investigation.

but go ahead, keep on avoiding the facts.

I disagree it's wasteful. Govt lawyers need to have conferences too and if they serve muffins and sodas and coffee and fruit BFD.

That's not what this cluster (*)(*)(*)(*) was about.

the premise is governments wasteful spending, this is only one example of it whether its $16/muffin or $16/head for a continental breakfast, wasteful is wasteful.

now dont get me wrong, if this country was on good economic standing and unemployment wasnt higher than a giraffes ass i wouldnt see anything wrong with such an expense. BUT!!!! this just shows how fiscally irresponsible our gov't is and im sure we will see much much worse once the digging gets deeper.

like i said, politicians have everything paid for, there is hardly a (*)(*)(*)(*)ed thing they ever do to where they use their own money. like i said all we do is pay them to get paid and make a "rivveting" speech every once and awhile, then go on vacation. and the time they work the hardest is when election season comes up.

i just cant believe we as citizens havent said anything about it, its truly getting ridiculous. there are people who dont have jobs, cant afford nothing but ramen noodles and tap water to eat, yet politicians and their (*)(*)(*)(*)ing understudies who have (*)(*)(*)(*)ing jobs and a paycheck rolling in get god (*)(*)(*)(*) free meals on our dime?

wait i forgot, this is the United States......(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)ing about the Palins and coming up with new "nicknames" for Obama is whats important.

do you get my drift yet?
