DOMA Defense: Taxpayers On The Hook For $1.5 Million To Defend Law Barring Same-Sex Marriage

 The RepubliKKKans have been (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)ing about the Dumbocrates for overspending, yet they are willing to shell out 1.5 million dollars in tax payer money for DOMA.

I guess they only want to cut spending IF it doesn't suit their bigoted needs.

There is a law on the books. The executive branch doesn't want to enforce that law. The executive branch has failed.

I'm sure if they feel so strongly about it they could pool their own money together for it and not rely on the taxpayers.

you should always expect a moronic response to a question that moronic.

I dont support everything Bubba did, I doubt I even support the majority.

but DOMA was one of the worst

Yes. Asking why you want to duck current law is certainly moronic isn't it Mello?

Got news for you Mello. Just because YOU don't like the law does not give the government the ability to ignore it. You simply aren't that important little buddy. :sun:

I'll say it again, not by the Supreme Court.

And I thought they would follow the law. Not duck it because they don't personally agree with it.

who said they will ignore it? its still being enforced

Notwithstanding this determination, the President has informed me that Section 3 will continue to be enforced by the Executive Branch. To that end, the President has instructed Executive agencies to continue to comply with Section 3 of DOMA, consistent with the Executive's obligation to take care that the laws be faithfully executed, unless and until Congress repeals Section 3 or the judicial branch renders a definitive verdict against the law's constitutionality. [Department of Justice, Letter to Congressional Leadership, 2/23/2011]

oh sorry, do they not mention that on talk radio or your little blogs?
