Not as annoying as the darkies though, right? I mean if it's homo vs. darkie, you're picking homo -- I mean if you have any sense at all.

You know, I was thinking about that too. There are several other groups that constitute about 3.2% of the population or less.

Asians only make up about 4.8% of the population, so if they couldn't marry it wouldn't really hurt the economy either.

Wait! Now I'm confused. I thought the Republicans were the party of limited government. Are you trying to tell me they're not??? Oh the humanity.

But that's the whole point -- DOMA provides a loophole, an end-run around the Constitution if you will. It should never have become law in the first place.

Again, what is the net benefit?

Not unless gyms and health care suddenly became worthless.

That small government stuff doesn't count when God or the military is involved. It's just one of those rules.

So they are making "big numbers." What are they doing to produce big numbers?

A lot of creative accounting and some intense salesmanship in some respects.

There's work involved, but it doesn't physically produce anything.

Pretty much everyone annoys me. Some more than others. Gays are just the most annoying.

Well, I was thinking of making a Discouragement of Marrying Asians Act, but I realize that no particular religion specifically requires that.

And oh man! Talk about annoying! They're just going to make more Asians if we let them. Man every time I go to Chinatown -- there's SO MANY of them! I'm like "what the heck!"

They produce intangible goods. These are ideas, information, knowledge. The formation of these things can have a very positive or negative impact of a business, including jobs. Anyone can move a box. Very few people can be CEO of a corporation.

And you assume all weddings are the same.

The average wedding budget is $20,000 and this is assuming the father of the bride will take care of the bill for the gay couple. Who ever the "bride" will be.

I wouldn't count on that 17 percent statistic apply to a gay couple. It's funny as much as people don't want to cling to the religious mantra, they still want to cling to the traditional religious things like wedding ceremonies.

The Bipartisan Legal Advisory Group consists of three Republican members of the House -- Boehner, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (Va.) and Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (Calif.) -- and two Democrats: Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) and Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (Md.).

The group has the authority to instruct House General Counsel Kerry Kirchner to take legal action on behalf of the lower chamber, and it often gets involved in situations where House leaders believe there are institutional or separation-of-powers issues involved.

Pelosi tweeted Wednesday evening that she and Hoyer voted against the resolution while Boehner, Cantor and McCarthy voted for it.
