Why do you think that's funny?

Not like they are supposed to or even claim to though. I have plenty of horror stories from my own life.

Do share with us, what in your view is "common sense legislation"? What would you have done differently?

The ones who perceive it to be good are the ones benefiting from more free (*)(*)(*)(*). Their task masters pushed it to ensure maintenance of their voter base.

ummm legislation would be the same as the feds taking over..either way, if Insurance did right by its customers there would be no need for legislation.

Maybe you don't want to hear this, but ObamaCare was the best legislation that the congress could come up with so far.
When a better plan is in play, I'll call my rep, and both my Senators, until then, this is what we have, and it's better than what we had.

By your logic this service is randomly dropping people. That would have been the case with previous insurance companies.

Depends on whether "could" denotes "was able to get passed" or if you mean "there was nothing better they could have come up with than this masterpiece".

The mistake was the website. I can understand that they wanted to try to integrate everything onto a single platform, but I also understand it asked everybody some pretty nosey questions to see if they qualified for medicaid which some people might would not want to answer into a federal government database under penalty of perjury or otherwise. Perhaps if they had a "I'm not applying for medicaid no matter what so let's skip to the meat and potatoes" button it would have taken a load off the servers and increased enrollment.

I also haven't seen any estimates that I recall of how many people may be buying compliant policies but are electing to get the rebate instead of the subsidy. If I were in the upper end of the pool where it could go either way, I would have done it that way rather than risk having to pay thousands back next year. We won't have concrete numbers on 2014 net enrollment really until late 2015 I suspect.

    agreed

when Hillarycare was being mentioned, the GOP begged and pleaded American's not to support it. They told us they understood there was issues and that they would work on a plan that would help all of us.

Almost 16 years later they had done NOTHING, then whine when ACA came along.

I fail to see having the government FORCE every American to buy something they may not want, have no control over what they get, and no control of the care they will get as a good thing. I fail to see why expecting the government to run our healthcare as a good thing.

But, we live in a time where Americans now expect government to fix all of our problems. This is going to be one of those “be careful what you ask for” moments; because once you put your health in the hands of the government, you know longer own your own destiny.
