Of the scotus getting involved? Again, no there is not. The house picks. Period. They don't have to vote by party or by electoral breakdown. Already settled.

My bad. I'd forgotten 2000 was centered on Florida's votes, not an outright 269/269 outcome.

I love how as the night wore on, CNN began dreaming of a 269-269 tie, as if that would have given
    her some hope of winning!

Haven't you heard? Hillary won by a huge landslide! Trump only had one vote. Really you need to get with the times!

A tie goes to the house.
    Everyone knows this.

So do you care to revise your election predictions now that you are back?

    He's not back.
His last post was just before Hillary's election hopes imploded.
    Paid DNC shill, most likely.

Ultimately Congress counts the electoral votes. If any Congressman objects then the matter is decided by Congress. All this hand wringing is silly.

They have to abide by a majority choice of a candidate, if a candidate does not get a majority then they vote amongst the top three electoral vote getters so it would be Trump, Clinton and Sanders they would vote between.

    Guess who would win?

Check out the 12th Amendment, it explains it. A 269-269 tie would send the election to the House of Representatives where the House would choose the next president. But the vote would be by states with each state having one vote. Last I checked the Republicans control 29 state congressional delegations, it takes 26 to choose the next president. Whomever was the Republican nominee/candidate would be the next president.

And they have to vote for one of the top 3 electoral winners.

I can't believe people actually think Republican state congressional delegations would vote for Hillary or Sanders over Trump ESPECIALLY after how he has come out of the blocks.

I'm guessing the Dems want a Republican super majority in 2018.

The People are getting tired of this crap.

Like the old phone ad -- "can your hear me now ?"

They wouldn't. That is the futility of all of this trying to get electors not to cast their vote for Trump. Even if by some zillion to one odds they could succeed in holding Trump under 270, the house would via the states would make sure he becomes president.
