    I agree!

    LOL!!!!

What is it going to take to get him to understand that even if a GOD existed and pulled an I DREAM OF JEANNIE and BLINKED and then POOF!!! The whole planet was covered with 5 miles of water....and remember wherever there is ocean that sea water would then be covered with an additional 5 miles of water thus this would increase the diameter of the Earth by 10 MILES....the result would be a catastrophic failure of the currently existing at that time Celestial Mechanics driven SOLAR ORBIT OF THE EARTH!!!

He keeps trying to say that all of a sudden that 5 Miles High of water flooded the entire Earth and that this happened because the water was UNDERGROUND....but it is PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE for that much LIQUID WATER to exist stored underground!!!

I keep trying to explain to him that a 5 Miles deep SHELL of water over the Earth could only exist GEOMETRICALLY and what I will now describe is completely CONTRARY to Physics and Geology....but it would be like hollowing out a 78.3 Miles in depth SPHERICAL CAVERN SHELL....with a 25 MILE IN DEPTH EARTHS CRUST SHELL FLOATING ON TOP OF IT LIKE MAGIC!!!

He doesn't understand that 5 Miles of water in depth covering the Earth is MUCH MORE WATER TAKING UP MUCH MORE VOLUME....than the volume of earth and ocean water existing from the mountain rock and all the rock volume going down 25 miles into Earth's crust.

Because the volume of water that would exist raising ocean levels to 5 miles high increases Earth's diameter by 10 Miles....that volume of water if existing underground below a TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE 25 MILES OF EARTH'S CRUST.....FLOATING ON 78.3 MILES THICK SHELL OF WATER BELOW THIS!!!

Now we KNOW that is completely impossible for water to exist like this underground and we also know that the Temps. even 5 miles underground even in thick crust is so hot that water would in effect BOIL....and thus it could not exist as a liquid and it would EXPLOSIVELY VENT.

BUT....if some supposed GOD just BLINKED and all of a sudden 5 Miles of water covered the entire Earth...what would happen?

I will tell you what would happen....THE EARTH'S DIAMETER WOULD INCREASE BY 10 MILES!!!

This would CHANGE THE INVERSE SQUARE LAW OF GRAVITY!!!

Which means that this additional mass along with the additional 10 miles of Earth's Diameter would CAUSE OBJECTS AND PEOPLE AND ATMOSPHERE TO WEIGH MORE!!!

IT WOULD CAUSE EARTH'S ATMOSPHERE TO BECOME AS THICK AS PEA SOUP!!!

IT WOULD CHANGE THE CELESTIAL MECHANICS CALCULATIONS OF EARTH ROTATION...ORBIT AROUND THE SUN....AND EARTH'S MOON'S ORBIT, ROTATION, TIDAL FORCES...ETC.

ANYONE ON SOME BOAT WOULD DIE!!!

    People...animals...bacteria....WOULD ALL DIE!!

FISH, MARINE MAMMALS, CORALS, EVERY LIVING THING IN THE OCEANS WOULD DIE!!!

ALL LIFE IN ANY FORM WOULD DIE!!!

And then the EARTH which would already be moving at a velocity around the Sun at a specific distance would ESCAPE THE SUN'S GRAVITATIONAL EFFECT....causing the Earth to fly out of it's Solar Orbit into THE DEEP COLD OF DEEP SPACE WHERE EVERY LIFE FORM INCLUDING MICROSCOPIC LIFE WOULD DIE!!!

THE MOON WOULD FIRST CRASH INTO THE EARTH BEFORE THIS HAPPEN AS THE INCREASE OF EARTH'S MASS WOULD BRING THE 2 CLOSER TOGETHER AND AS THE MOON'S ROTATION AND ORBIT CHANGED AND AS THE EARTH BEGAN TO ESCAPE IT'S SOLAR ORBIT AT THE POINT THE MOON WAS DIRECTLY BEHIND THE EARTH AND ALIGNED WITH THE SUN THUS....IN A STRAIGHT LINE.....SUN...EARTH THEN MOON.....the additional gravitational effect of the Moon in line with the Earth would help the now GREATER MASSED EARTH to escape the sun's orbit and the Earth and Moon would fly off into deep interstellar space BUT...

JUST BEFORE THAT HAPPENED.....the Earth and Moon would SMASH INTO EACH OTHER......and guess what??

    Guess what would happen??

    YOU GOT IT!!!

EVERYONE AND EVERY LIFE FORM ON EARTH WOULD....DIE!!! DIE!!! DIE!!!!!!!

The STUPIDITY.....of thinking a world wide flood happened is so.....it's....STUPIDITY BEYOND WORDS!!!

And far before the Earth and Moon smashed into one another....and way before the Earth and Moon flew off into deep space out of Solar Orbit.....well.....because the Earth's ATMOSPHERE would increase in pressure and water vapor to such an extent that PEOPLE WOULD DROWN BREATHING ATMOSPHERE SO THINK YOU COULD HOLD IT IN A GLASS.......well guess what??

EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING WOULD BE....DEAD!! DEAD!!! DEAD!!!

    WOW!! Ughhh!!!

    FEWFF!!

I have to admit it was therapeutic posting all that because if I kept it locked up inside me I would DIE from being exposed to such stupidity.

No, people ABSOLUTELY make this stuff up.

Read the creation stories of so many religions. And, they usually have truly amazing stories of end times and other major events, too. Try to find a people that DIDN'T make this stuff up. Look what the Greeks and Romans came up with. Read the Prose Eda from the Norsemen. Read what they teach to billions of people in India and China.

Of course, Christians see THEIR stories as not just true, but LITERAL, while they believe ALL the stories of ALL the other religions are sinfully false and stupid.

So, there really, really was a "Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil" and a "Tree of Life". There is NO CHANCE that there is allegory here. Although these were perfect trees, I guess they died - not even leaving progeny.

Too bad. I guess I'll plant an apple tree instead.

Just about ever culture has a tree of life in their religion, myths and folklore.

    Absolutely.

Oral tradition and allegory went hand in hand as the fundamental method of conveying knowledge for thousands of years.

Now, we look back and declare OUR traditions to be literal while all others are not just free of information, but actual apostasy.

It seems like we should be smarter than that.

That is it in a nut shell isn't it.

Some members will deny the science and the physics and the mathematics and the celestial mechanics as hogwash....and then say..."What really happened is written down right here in these ancient human religious texts!"

But even worse they will say..."But not all those other religions ancient texts just the one's that MY RELIGION say's is what happened!!!"

    Ahhhhh.....it get's old.

No, the subject matter of the story isn't the issue.

In fact, it sounds like you're asking for a very different method of interpretation of stories just 5 chapters apart in Genesis.

There was no great flood.. The story is based on an actual four day flood of the Euphrates River basin.. "Noah" was a king of Sumer who sold grain, livestock and beer down river on barges.. It was in the spring of 2900 BC.

You can be seriously wrong you know. And are you saying those who don't subscribe to that belief are not serious?
I never claimed that they did, however even the best of us can be stubborn.
And I show'd you why the Biblical account didnt copied from the Enuma Elish.
I think my religion suits me fine. And I'm not going against any of those sciences.

Not if the sediments and metamorphic rock was soft.

5 miles actually and yes today it's that tall but it wasn't always.
I forgot what they are called but what I was referring to was sometimes entire sections of dirt dislodge and become kinda like a floating forest because of all the roots.
Uprooted from the pre-flood world. And no the flood wasn't that deep.
In some parts yes but it's a big world. Right now I'm sure there's a huge thunderstorm and I'm not feeling anything from it.

Exactly how many families are there? Also who's to say that today's plant life didnt existed then. When you think about exactly how many families of plants (not species) there's really not that many. If there's hundreds of thousands of species then there's les of that in families.

    - - - Updated - - -

Exactly how I'm using that fallacy?

It was a worldwide flood. Even if there were soft sedimentary mud covering the whole earth a mile deep, it would have a lot longer to recede.

Just slightly under 5 miles and I'm quite sure between 4000 and 6000 years ago it was the same height.

Yes, those are logs that are still rooted in soil. A floating log on it's own will eventually lose the nutrients to sustain any plant life.

If it covered the whole earth which was claimed in the bible then yes it would be that deep. Also before the use of weighted lifts, the deepest free dive was 100 metres. So even if we took off 90% of the water that covered the earth no human could dive down and retrieve these plants or other fauna.

Yes but a log floating around the water for over a year is going to eventually hit a few of these storms.

There are 173 accepted families of plants not including other fauna. Many of these families have thousands and tens of thousands of species.
    http://apps.kew.org/wcsp/incfamilies.do
Evolutionists accept plant and animal life evolved over millions of years. You are trying to say that the whole evolution of plants evolved in less than 4000 years. A couple of creationist sites put the flood at 2,948 years ago.

How EXACTLY did that work? How do we see galaxies a billion lightyears away today? Was it only a few thousand light-years away in 4000 BC and God "pulled it away" by a factor of one million on the 4th Day???

If the Earth was hot enough to keep the atmosphere from freezing...it would have been TOO hot for the planets and withered them.

Why is it that no Literalist/Creationist proposes an experiment to prove that the Ark "could have worked"?

Build a full-scale model....bring in whatever animals are needed (by Bible directions)....food and other materials loaded.....get 8 healthy adults onboard.....and seal it up for a year. And see what happens?

If the Sun is at noon meridian in Israel/Jordan.....where is it in New Zealand? Where is it in Mexico?

Plus, why do only Creationist websites know about these "other culture references to Joshua's Long Day".....no archeological/cultural science sites mention it???

    - - - Updated - - -

Fascinating, isn't it? The most fervant Christians....unknowingly do "the Devil's work" THE BEST.

Wait, the water didnt recede, the water assuaged. The mountains and valleys rose and sank down. It'll be like filling a pool with two feet of water and lifting one end.
    At today's rate yes.

    True.

Where did you get that idea? Noah could've brought the seeds on board before the flood came.
First place there are countries today that hardly ever get storms. Second who said it floated for a year? Sure the flood as a whole lasted that long but some place due to the shifting of the earth could've only been covered for a few weeks or months and be dry for the rest of the flood.

Before I address this let me remind you that you believe all those plants came from a rock. To answer your question if there was genetic diversity in the original 173 plants then I think that could happen.

Yes. However when you think about it Adam was a full grown man in a full grown garden so stretching the stars isn't much.

Like I said there was light before the sun.

There are full size floating arks today. But to do what you suggest will be expensive.

You didnt read the link did you?
Maybe because its not there interest to do so? You can search for these legends yourself.

Changing your tune I see. When I first stated about the receding waters you argued about complexity and make-up of the landscape. Now you are saying the water didn't recede. Are you telling me mountains and valleys rose a couple of miles in a matter of days? Also the water still needs to go somewhere.

Today's rate? Mt. Everest grows about 5cm a year but erosion at the summit will compromise any growth.

Many seeds do not hibernate for long periods of time and the amount of soil needed to sustain all this plant life could not be achieved on an ark. The different varieties of plant life need different types of nutrients, soil conditions, different amount of sunlight, temperatures, different amount of water...etc Being inside the ark wouldn't allow any sunlight.

The part of the world that would be uncovered at first would be too cold and not enough oxygen to sustain plant life. Look at all the highest peaks around the world. No plant life.

    No I don't.
What do you mean original 173 plants. Those are plant families found today. We have hundreds more fossilized plant families. I also have not include other members of flora on that list like tress, mosses, fungi...etc. Also there are well over 100, 000 different species today. One family of plants cannot break down into 20,000 species in a few thousand years.

But where WERE the distant galaxies? Were they only 6000 lightyears from Earth...or did God "stretch space" and pull them backwards away from the Earth to "make it look" like they were millions of light-years away?

And why did God want to TRICK us?

What about this "hot Earth" you mentioned? Was it hot enough to keep the atmosphere from freezing without a Sun? If so, what were the physics of that, that it wasn't too hot that all the plants would have withered and died???

Where is a "floating" ark? Only one I've heard of is on dry land. And that's not even made of "gopher wood".

And who cares about "expense"? If such an experiment proved a success....it would create almost undeniable evidence that Noah's Ark could have worked and convinced millions who doubt the story or think it's myth...that it might be historic.

    Isn't that worth it???

Yes.....it was flawed. It would NOT be "sunrise" in New Zealand if it was noon in Israel. Cairo is +2 GMT....Auckland is +12 GMT. Noon in Egypt...would be 10pm in New Zealand...not sunrise.

Or maybe because like Creationists....Creation websites are intellectually dishonest.

No, they are driven away by people who say "Turn off your brain...stop thinking, ignore facts, history, science, even logic...and believe a book of tribal legends is 'historical fact'."

Of course throw in self-righteousness by many Christians as well.

I didnt changed my time in the way that I'm moving the Goalposts. I forgot that in the KJV said that they assuaged. As for my original pint it still stands, and as for the water we still have it in the oceans and ice caps. If everything was completely flat the oceans would be a mile deep.
That's because of how hard Mt. Everest is and how relatively stable it is. The quake that shook anchorage, alaska moved some places 60 ft up.

What type of long periods of time?

Assuming the mountains were as high then as is now.

What I meant by original was basically something like how the wolf is the ancestor of modern dogs.

    I
    Not sure.
First he didnt. Second it could be that he put them at that distance to allow for more stars to make us say "wow God!" Thirdly he made Adam full grown when he was zero years old. Is that trickery?

The light before the sun was warm enough to keep the plants alive. You do realize that this entire creation week is itself a miracle right?

    http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=floating+noahs+ark+replica&FORM=HDRSC2&PC=APPM

There's already scientific evidence that Noah's ark could work.
    Maybe.

And that's how legends work. Sometimes things get skewed.

    Show me where.

    This Topic is getting silly.

As I have demonstrated a world wide flood is impossible.

    No possible way.

And even if some....GOD....blinked it into existence....it would kill all life on Earth.

This is not an opinion but a FACT.

The IRC is a religious group, not a scientific group. They openly admit that when ever science and religion conflict, they choose the religious explanation. For some reason, they completely omit carbon dating of fossils which is fundamental aspect of geology and fossil collection. This bunch of fruit cakes use the bible as a science book and pretend they are doing research.

Still waiting for one of the accredited 2300 universities of the world to buy into this crappola. You might as well just come out and say the Old Testament is your reference as to use these guys.
    It's call, circular reasoning.

First, you need to give up driving a car as even the energy company uses science to search for oil based upon just about everything that contradicts what these guys believe in. Driving cars it self on gasoline whose science disproves creationism means you guys are so laughable, you might as well just say cars are magic too.
