Yeah, I know all that, but it was a pretty simple question.... I know we are on the same side here, so I'm just curious as to which 'outrageous observations' you don't believe... the sides are forming that this book is either 100% accurate (doubtful) or 100% inaccurate (impossible).... I just wanted to drill down with somebody who read the NYMAG article, but if you don't want to participate, that's fine...

Not doubtful. DEFINITELY, I'd be surprised if bruised egos didn't account for 30% of griping and moaning. Then there's the "i was at woodstock" syndrome where some sources relate "stories of events" they were not actual witness to. The author even says he believed there were lies and gossip and a little "revenge". Ya tend to get that in the snake pit chaotic atmosphere that existed at time in the west wing. You'd be surprised how many other snake pits there are out there at all level of power, albeit the White House takes the cake.

All that is not relevant to Bannon's betrayal of trump. This wasn't doctrinal it was PERSONAL.

    Possibly, but accurately reported...

    SNIP
“Here’s the deal,” a close Trump associate told Priebus. “In an hour meeting with him, you’re going to hear 54 minutes of stories, and they’re going to be the same stories over and over again. So you have to have one point to make, and you pepper it in whenever you can.”
    ENDSNIP

    Sound familiar??

He didn't 'write it' in the sense he created it, like a fictional book. He reported what he heard and saw. If people said things that were not true, that's not his problem as he is just reporting what he heard.

He's not governing with better results than Obama. The economy is not progressing any better than it did with Obama. There is less job growth than with Obama. He has us on the brink of nuclear war. He has alienated most of the modern Western world including alienating and antagonizing our strongest allies, he has undone important regulations that help keep our environment safe, he has enacted a tax plan that will increase the deficet by trillions and in the long run cause taxes to go up for the working and middle classes, he has humiliated the US and de-seated us from our place as world leader--making us a laughingstock, and it just goes on and on. Not doing better than any previous president: doing a great deal worse. And he wants billions for a wall: who is going to pay for that? Not Mexico.

I haven't read into this, for me it depends on the context. Any broad review of a man's life from multiple sources is going to have bad sources. It's about doing everything you can to mitigate that, and openly admitting the veracity of the source.

If your source is a massive Hillary supporter and you introduce her testimony with "keep in mind, Joe Citizen was a vocal supporter of Clinton in the campaign" I think that source could be admitted, especially if cross referenced with others or backed up with physical evidence.

I've been vocal in saying that I don't mind bias. We are all biased, it is unavoidable. The constant nureotic compulsion of the media to be unbiased results in them trying to 'impartially report the facts', which of course they necessarily do from their own perspective of truth and the facts. They then feel entitled to not inform the reader of any of their biases.

That's the problem with journalism. They need to be more upfront about their preconceptions rather than trying to make them disappear. You are human, your intuitions and biases will always be there.

It's about informing your reader and suggesting they contrast with other sources. An informed citizen is a constant battle which cannot be definitely won.

It is very important to know if he is mentally unstable, bottom line. If he doesn't recognize someone high up in the Republican party, someone he played golf with, that creates a serious problem regarding his mental capacity.

    OP

Being certain of your facts is the first rule of journalism, isn't it? Well it used to be when I worked in Fleet Street. I guess this comes under 'fake journalism'? lol

So tell me how do you know what you just mentioned isn't one of those admitted lies the author wrote in the book?

see how that works because the author admitted he knew lies were told to him and he wrote them in the book anyways everything and anything out of the book can now be challenged and dismissed as one of those lies

You and everybody else are missing the point; the book isn't about the book, it's about how Trump responds to it. That might not have been the books intention but that's exactly what we get. (As I expected.)
    upload_2018-1-6_9-58-58.png

The gloves have come of Trumps tiny hands. Here's the so-called President of the United States calling somebody a dog on Twitter!
And If Trump calls you a dog, you'd better stay out of his way for he might kick ye senseless.

NOW Trump is in his element. Now he's on top of his food-chain, dishing out sh*t while ignoring his own stench.

He has reached that rarefied atmosphere where he is King Turd. He who dumps on others, with no-one elevated to dump on him.

    Welcome to Trump's Layercake.

Just get out of the Oval Office if he offers you a cup of tea...

LOL, there are hours of Trump interviews that prove the gossip to be trash compared to Hillary's 38 minutes. Also speeches where he uses teleprompters proving he can read proving the trash book wrong. He easily showed he can talk extemporaneously about many issues.

You just want the gossip book to be true.

My God, Trump gets more and more vile.

I can't believe that tweet. He's a real gutter snipe.

He never said that. Don't read it and continue to let your imagination do the talking.
