+++ Suddenly, now, whenever I'm Replying .. A Rectangular Yellow "Auto-Saved" pops on and off my monitor -- every few seconds.. What up? +++
Only new members are subject to it. During your 90 day probationary period, every thing you type (whether submitted or not), will be saved and reviewed to determine if you meet certain criteria for becoming a permanent member.
Would you therefore recommend to new members that they therefore should compose and exit and rewrite and further edit what they plan to submit to this forum on a separate word-processor, and THEN submit the final draft TO this forum?
Okay, my conscious has gotten the better of me. King, How Auto Save Works The Auto-Save feature is a backup feature to save the text in your reply in case of a crash or other circumstance that may temporarily delay your reply/post. Auto-Save automatically backs up your work every 30 seconds. At that point, you should see an Auto-saved message flash in the right-hand corner of your reply pane. If after the initial 30 second backup you are inadvertently thrown out of your reply, you can go back to the thread, click Reply to Thread and you should see a "Restore Auto-Saved content" message in the lower left-hand corner of either the Quick Reply Pane or the Advanced Pane. Click on that message and your text is restored. *smile* By the way, welcome to the forum.
Thank you. I appreciate your (as soon as I typed "appreciate" even the second time, "auto save" came up.. and again, etc.,) concern for me - as I for you. In fact, on another forum we're all following (saving) this thread as well; so as to ensure that everyone - especially yours truly - remains on the up and up. Again. Thanking you again. KING
You're welcome, King. If you have further questions, I'll help any way I can... ... eventually. LOL Take care
[COMMENT REMOVED FOR REASONS OF NATIONAL SECURITY] Thank you for your welcome. I appreciate both your kindness, your patience and your no-bull(*)(*)(*)(*) approach to questions... I've another question. Why - in your most humble opinion - do many phorums request that one gives the so-called "reason" that one "edits" one's very own string of ascii-related characters? For instance, you made a typo... But.. .if you didn't tell me, then, I wouldn't've known it.. And if I didn't know it, then, I'd assume you were prolly a good speller... PLUS? If you tell me.. then I could start to think that .. spellling is very important to you; perhaps your "image".. to me.. or self-image to yourself.. ? Ah... I go on and on .. therefore I am.. <wink> KING! +++
Absolutely! Far be it from me to ever be anything but serious! Well, here it certainly isn't a requirement. But for me, I'll typically make a quick note for a specific reason. Sometimes a few of the threads get a little exaggerated (shall we say), and I wouldn't want anyone thinking I called them a jackass or something, had second thoughts, chickened out, and edited it like a sissy. hahahaha Seriously, it's a non issue, if you prefer, leave it blank. ...good spelling, by the way.
It does this because it is saving what you have typed. If you have written a long reply to a thread and there is a database error and your post is lost, you simply return to the thread and click on the 'restore autosaved content' and your post will appear again, so you don't have to type it out again.
It's a nifty feature that saves a draft of your post and Gmail also automatically saves a draft in a similar fashion. Even after you lost your Internet connection or closed the page accidentally, you can restore what you had written in reply by clicking on 'Restore Auto-Saved Content' below the editor when you come back to the same thread to post a reply. It saves time and effort and you can also restore an unfinished draft that has been saved automatically.
