You conveniently forget the cronyism, corruption and cover-ups that get your politicians, powerful CEO's and
media influencers their jobs.

Why would the president of the NAACP write a letter trying to get him just probation? Perhaps you don't really have any idea how bad racism is in this country at all, just like the rest of the folks who want to relegate racism to bygone eras of the past. Yes, we're not turning fire hoses on black people anymore, but those in-your-face examples of racism being less prevalent now does not mean we got rid of it. I've lived in rural PA since I was 4(I'm 40 now), and I can tell you that racism is NOT dead. Not even close.

And the answer to your 2nd question is simple. Tribalism. It's why there are so many ardent defenders of Trump too.
