The Mueller Report cost about thirty five million dollars of tax payer money. The Impeachment Hearings also cost millions, plus it probably cost some lives. The hearings were happening during the time that the China Virus was just being reported, which distracted the White House. Now that the government wants to give money to help Americans, Hospitals, and the like, the liberal politicians want to fund the Kennedy Center, airline emissions, and several other areas unrelated to the Pandemic.
Their hatred of President Trump far outweighs their love of the country.

The Democratic Party does more harm than good.

Partisanship does more harm than good. That goes for the republican party as well.

The Democrat party has no interest in doing good per se other than they will accept it as a side dish. There sole interest is absolute power and control.

I seldom disagree with you but must here. Partisanship properly executed is a good thing and not only a natural state of affairs but a linchpin of the Constitution, the separation of powers concept, and the republic. If there is no partisanship there is only autocracy.

Starr spent over six years on the Whitewater investigation, which eventually led to Clinton's impeachment for lying under oath, and billed taxpayers more than $70 million.
And you have no factual evidence the hearings distracted the WH from the China virus.

I will agree with @fmw on the Republicans being just as bad. I would say that a two party system does more harm than good. Bring the other parties more to the front and truly look at the candidates. Ignore their party and look at them.

Sadly there are too many lemmings who blindly follow party lines.

Even better would be to have no parties at all. No parties, no partisanship.

At least Starr investigated actual criminal activity.

Oh well...then all is cool. I personally don't want taxpayers to have to pay for such stuff but apparently you're more than fine with that. Good to know

@RodB also has an excellent point. This country is not of one mind. Parties help to bolster certain ideals. A single party would essentially be a dictatorship, while no parties would be next to chaos. Two simply isn't enough for a happy medium.

I actually think way too much money was spent on the Clinton investigation, and every dollar spent by Mueller was a sham waste.

The Benghazi investigation lasted over three years and cost millions - and we knew what had happened within a month.

Both sides waste tons of money on partisan investigations - but nobody ever said that transparent government was going to be inexpensive.

And for those Trump fans complaining about wasted money ... hell, dudes, Trump has spent over $120 million on golf
trips in just his first three years.

You have an unreasonably positive concept of partisanship. I think you can have all the separation of powers, arguments about politics, political campaigns and all the rest without political parties. Partisanship puts the needs of the party above the needs of the people. It abandons common sense and even facts in order to put political power ahead of what political leaders should be doing. A perfect example is the pork that was included in the 2 trillion dollar upcoming fiasco.

It is all a waste. Most of what federal government spends is waste. I will continue to complain about it, thank you.

Basically accurate except "having all the separation of powers, arguments about politics, political campaigns and all the rest without political parties" is a practical and virtual impossibility. Most of the framers despised political parties but knew with certainty we would have them.

I don't understand the chaos. People could still register to run for office, raise money and campaign. You could say that it would replace the party with donors but it appears donors do what they do even with the existence of parties. My problem with many parties is that we don't have a parliamentary system in which voters choose a party rather than a candidate. But the partisanship still remains. We don't need parties to vote for individuals. Having said that, I think many parties would be better than just two. Just not as good as no parties.

I don't understand that. Theoretically things get down to votes. You don't need a political party to cast a vote. You don't need a political party to run for office. I can see that many of the ways we do things would have to change but I have never been one fear change. It might be harder for other people.

Not really. Paula Jones and her claims were a bust. I'm sure getting a bummer from a very willing woman is not a crime. If the Republicans had not been hounding Clinton, he would have not had an occasion to lie.

But the Republicans spent the entirty of Clinton's presidency trying to get him on anything. The best they
could come with is lying about getting a hummer from a very willing woman. It is not like with Reagan, the Bushes and Trump where there associates went to jail for actual criminal activity.

Instead of having upwards of 300+ ideas on a given subjective, if you have 5 or 6 cohesive factions, you have a lot of room for compromise, but not an overwhelming amount of things to compromise on.

Paula Jones' claims got her close to $1 million from Clinton to pay her to go away. Some bust!

Clinton himself, not Republicans, asked for the Independent Prosecutor. Lying to a federal judge and to a grand jury and trying to get other witnesses to lie to a federal judge are felonies, and it matters not one iota what the lie was about. Clinton's crimes were actual crimes, not tickitak or process crime wannabes.

Good thing taxpayers paid all that money for the crime of the century. My lord...the point is BOTH sides always seem to find ways to piss away taxpayer money.

The Benghazi investigation lasted over three years and cost millions - and we knew what had happened within a month.

And yet those responsible for leaving Americans to die were never held responsible, not one. Obama slept, Clinton was frozen with fear and did nothing. Then they both knowingly lied about it, over and over. then the put a gag order on one of the badly injured survivors we still haven't heard from. Yet, no one paid any price for it. Shameful. In the end Clinton nor Obama ever sent them help. it came from local militia and the plane that took the last men out, was only there to re fuel, so even after 13 hours those in charge were still wringing their hands. Frozen cowardice, is what you get when democrats are in charge.

If I was in charge I would re open the Benghazi hearings and hold people responsible.
