I know some of you guys like to imagine yourself as fighting against tyranny, that's fine, but don't expect the rest of us to imagine the tyranny with you.

besides, how is expecting the people we elect to government to be smarter than us, being a slave? It's sad and pathetic to think that way.

I don't respect the 2nd amendment. So for me, the government should be telling everyone that they can't own a gun. That's not really my point.

You seem to think that we should be electing people who are of average or below average intelligence to elected office, because i guess you have some sort of fear of people who are smarter than you.

 

Smart people, with bad intentions, who have all the power? That rarely works out well for the people. All the tyrannical dictators throughout history we're smarter than everyone else. Hitler, Stalin, Lenin. Remind us how that worked out.

I have no "interpretation" of the Constitution. I read the text and understand what the words mean. Shall not be infringed, shall not be abridged, shall, shall not, prohibited and forbidden mean exactly that.

I posted the operative part. You know, like the part goes, "All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives." "All" is the operative text. It means that the Executive Branch and the Judicial Branch can't make laws. Unfortunately, some folks think they can. Even more sad, some people know they can't, but don't give a ****.

No, it isn't. That's now how sentence structure works. The operate term in the 2nd Amendment is, "...shall not be infringed". What shall not be infringed? "The right of the people shall not be infringed". Trying to say that gun ownership only applies to the militia is bullshit for two reasons: the amendment doesn't say, "The right of the members of the militia" and it's adding language to the text that doesn't exist. Basically, a lie.
