I am not agreeing anything. First, he has not made any such rulings so far except predicting what he would do. Second, filing a motion to dismiss is SOP for any defense attorney in a lot of cases. Even the Ambery Guyger trial, her attorney requested to dismiss the charges after the prosecution rests.

"The right to a speedy trial" is in the US constitution, under the 6th amendment. This means the prosecution cannot delay and tries to get an early trial as soon as possible. However, the defense can waive that right, and usually does. OJ Simpson and his attorneys went with a speedy trial, a date that many experts thought was very risky. But that is the exception. Trump, OTOH, who has always wanted a trial date as late as possible, as late as 2026 in some cases or after the election. In other words, he argues he is too busy, which is not reasonable under a court of law. But my post went directly against your assertion that the judge did not follow the rules. If you were aware of the timeline, you should also be aware that both sides presented their arguments to the judge, and the judge did not "rubber stamp" anyone's motion.

Jordan has not so far, what makes you think he will do this too. This is just a game to get political donations, nothing more, nothing less.

LOL-- the U.S. Senate has zero power of oversight of state courts, for God's sake. And Willis knows it! Read her letter, calling out his partisan pandering for what it is, and telling him to go shove it.

Jim Jordan is a member of the House, not the Senate.

Fani Willis once again humiliates the non-lawyer Gym Jordan.
No doubt Jordan is a masochist.

    Ben@Meidastouch on Fani's response.

Jordan is not in the Senate, he is in the House of Representatives. And they have no oversight over state courts, but JIm Jordan is alleging a "conspiracy" to work with the DOJ and FBI to bring about the charges in state court, aka another version of "weaponizing the FBI and DOJ" Republican argument that is well, bunk.

Say , how far did the Republicans get when they tried to interfere in the the NY state case against the Orange Stain ?

That seems to have dropped out of the news since they were told to go pound sand. Georgia is no different.
But it does affirm, once again, that the Republicans are willing to s**t on the Constitution for the sake of partisan politics.

You have a due process right to read the discovery before going to trial. Please keep up. The judge has said Trump's defense doesn't need to when setting the start date. The date wasn't set to benefit Trump, and it's laughable that you made this assumption. The only thing special about the date set by the judge is that it's a political date that the start of the trial will harm Trump the most in his attempt to make it to the Presidential nomination.

What nonsense are you saying! Trying them all together would speed everybody's trial.

Things have changed since your source was published...

"After defendant Kenneth Chesebro demanded a speedy trial in the case, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee set his trial date for Oct. 23, four months sooner than the date Willis originally proposed."

    https://thehill.com/regulation/cour...pedite-cases-of-all-19-defendants-in-georgia/

She originally requested for March, 2024...

"Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has asked a judge to set a trial date of March 4, 2024, for former President Donald Trump and his 18 co-defendants."

Fani tried to get the judge to tell the defendants that she didn't have to disclose evidence according to the law if they got a speedy trial in an effort to get them to drop their request. Fani isn't prepared for a speedy trial. The defendants requesting a speedy trial called her bluff that she was ready to prosecute. She jumped the gun on her indictment for political timing reasons.

Dhe claimed, under oath, that the demand for a speedy trial waves discovery rights. That's a lie and McAfee let her get away with perjury.

Her office should probably be charged under RICO for making false legal statements. Her office engaged in a conspiracy to defraud the defendants of their rights. The Georgia Bar should also investigate her corrupt behavior. That's how she would have handled the situation in reverse.
