You chose to join the discussion, were entirely unable to defend your opinion, started name calling and then ran away but I'm not talking about the holocaust.

I'm talking about your slandering me as an "anti Semite" and then ignoring me when challenged to find anything I've written that was anti Semitic in any way, anywhere.

If you're going to engage in name calling, you should at least be able to support your accusations.

As for the holocaust, nobody I know denies that it happened but most of the world(1) believes that it's been grossly exaggerated and crassly exploited by Hollywood(2) and what Norman Finkelstein calls "The Holocaust Industry" which is infamous for its influence, fraudulence and dishonesty. (1) ”THE WORLD IS FULL OF HOLOCAUST DENIERS”

EXCERPT “Only a third of the world's population believe the genocide has been accurately described in historical accounts.

Some said they thought the number of people who died has been exaggerated; others said they believe it's a myth.

Thirty percent of respondents said it's probably true that "Jews still talk too much about what happened to them in the Holocaust."

    - Hindus were most likely to believe that the number of Holocaust deaths has been exaggerated.

    - people younger than 65 were much more likely to say they believe that facts about the Holocaust have been distorted”CONTINUED

EXCERPT "George Stevens, John Ford, and Samuel Fuller, best known for their work in Hollywood, all documented the Allied liberation at the end of the war.

But during this period of war, they were acting less as artists than as functionaries of US propaganda and information efforts, working for the US Armed Forces and Secret Services.CONTINUED

    We have Ignore instead, Cy!

Way more effective than a "dislike button".

Read post #176 and tell me where "the weak mind that cannot accept opposing views" or "the emotionally triggered" lies.

But, "Ignore" doesn't communicate anything, Te. By contrast, if a poster writes something that brings on a big reaction of "Dislikes", it is a clear, visible reaction to content and/or viewpoint.

We can, and should learn from those who disagree with us -- not run away from them under a cloud of "Ignore". Nothing of any benefit or use is served by an "Ignore" button.

If you dislike the content you are free to provide your rebuttal, Cy.

However in my experience those that persist in posting trolling content are NOT deterred by something akin to a "dislike".

So that leaves those that are willing to engage in discourse whereby one can disagree without being disagreeable.

Those that are merely trolling don't deserve any of my time so they end up being ignored instead.

I must admit that you make an undeniable point about those who 'troll' -- doing it not to make a valid point, but rather simply to be a damned mindless irritant.

I've got one such 'troll' badgering me right now in a different thread, and although the temptation is strong to simply 'flush the toilet' by ignoring him, I refuse to give the tedious moron the satisfaction of making me run away from him....

That is NOT how I see it, Cy!

The troll is getting off by SUCKING up YOUR time and keeping YOU from engaging in something more useful and/or enjoyable.

The troll has done nothing to deserve YOUR time and attention.

You flush turds because they contribute NOTHING positive to your life by having them around.

Same logic applies to trolls IMO.

I’ve only done one or two here. At DP I had around thirty.
Every Jan 1 I’d take them all off.
    My criteria:
    Table poundingly stupid, bazaar thoughts.
Excessive “drive by” by irrelevancies. :machinegun:
    Primary function was thread crapping/highjacking.
Excessive “quote challenges”, like two iPad pages worth.
    Excessive TDS. :wall:
Denial that I am always right. 8)

Your posts just do not reach the requisite level of time sucking necessary to bear the expense of providing you with an all expenses paid one way ticket to Cyberia.

You are just going to have to try harder in the future. ;)

I cannot disagree with you, but I still won't put anyone on "Ignore". I probably enjoy letting them make blithering-idiots of themselves more than I should. It is a misuse of my time that I squander on trolls occasionally... a misbehavior I attribute to me being retired and bored....

You certainly do have every right to use your own time as you see fit, Cy.

As far as I am concerned life is too short to waste on the basement dwellers who have nothing better to do than post trolling content.

As long as you are enjoying yourself that is all that matters.

Indeed, most posters on the Democratic side do not require me to fully engage my brain. Sad, but true.

What is also SAD, but true, is that the CONTENT of your posts REFLECTS your negligence to fully engage your brain.

Who knows, you might find the forum more REWARDING if you did.

My friend, a multi-page post is not evidence of a fully engaged brain. Allow me to quote Shakespeare?

Honestly, this time of year, I'd much rather be out prowling around the 'high country' here in the Colorado Rocky Mountains in my good, old Jeep -- but -- this summer (as in too many of the past summers), we've got wild fire smoke and haze blowing in here from all over the damned place, and abnormally hot temperatures. So, unforgivably, I set in an air-conditioned house, drink, bitch, and waste time on social media.

Ah, Te, what happened to the United States we once had? Will we never get it back?

It was the use of too many Jeeps that is why we are not going to get that back in our lifetimes, Cy!

While others might disagree, and there is some wiggle room for disagreement, the COMBINED impact of too many of us on our limited environmental resources are coming back to bite us on the ass.

So you are going to have to just suck it up and see if there is some small contribution that you can make so that our descendants can one day enjoy what we had in our misspent youth.

Yes, I am doing the same thing that I just recommended. I am currently waiting on a quote to install PV panels on my roof so that I can reduce my carbon footprint for the next 25 years even if I do not get the benefit of that entire period myself.
