One thing that should be considered very carefully when discussing Paslestine, is that ther eare really 2 very different "Palestines".

First is the one that everyvody knows because of the news lately, the "Gaza Strip". That is the Palestine that all of the rocket attacks are coming from. This is also the Palestine that is controlled by Hamas.

Now, I might consider the rocket and mortar attacks of being some kind of real and legitimate uprizing by Palestinians, if both parts of Palestine were involved. But clearly if people look, this is not the case.

Forgotten in the last decade or so is the West bank. Now this is the most populated section, 2.4 million compared to the 1.4 million in the Gaza Strip. But this sector is controlled by Fatah (the old PLO led by Yasser Arafat), the ruling party of Palestine. But since the 2007 Battle of Gaza, Hamas has led the Gaza Strip in a totally different direction, quite seperate form the rest of Palestine.

So while the West Bank is a pretty peacefull region, largely living peacefully with their neighbors, Hamas and the Gaza Strip has chosen a course of confrontation and almost continual attacks.

This is something that everybody should consider when looking at the conflicts in the region. This is not "Israel beating up on Palestine", since the majority of people in Palestine are getting along with Israel pretty well. It is a minority in a very militant that according to their own "Constitution" refuse to ever recognize Israel, and believe that they will ultimately emerge victorious and drive the Jews into the sea.

And look carefully at the preface of each of the articles on the attacks:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Palestinian_rocket_attacks_on_Israel,_2011

And in those 2 years, I could find no attacks from the West Bank. Then we move back to 2010:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Palestinian_rocket_attacks_on_Israel,_2010

So that year, the one attack in the West Bank was actually done by Hamas.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Palestinian_rocket_attacks_on_Israel,_2009

Remember the earlier mentioned Gaza War. Once again, almost all of the rockets were fired from Gaza, either into the West Bank, or into Israel. Not by those Palestinians in the West Bank into Israel.

In fact, the last time I can find any major mention of strikes from the West Bank into Israel is in 2008.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Palestinian_rocket_attacks_on_Israel,_2008

For the last 4 years, things along that region have been pretty peacefull. One or two attacks (half of the time by Hamas agents in the West Bank), and that is about it. So if "Palestine" is under such oppression and constant attacks, why is this only happening in the smaller section of Palestine (the part that broke away from the majority)? It just does not make sense.

That is what most people just do not get at all. They see "Palestine", and now think of the Gaza Strip. But they totally ignore the West Bank, which is largely at peace.

Things in this subject are nowhere near what most people think they are. And for that, I generally blame the biased Media, which is clearly on the side of Palestine (Hamas). Not on the side of the majority of Palestinians (the Fatah led West Bank), or with Israel.

the palestinian "rockets" are WAY overhyped by the media. they shot like 2,000 in a week and it only killed about 6 Israelis.... the math doesnt add up. Obviously they are using very very weak bombs, and these attacks are done at random.

An Israeli girl interviewed in the very interesting documentary, The Listening Project, likened the act of living in Israel where you can be killed at any time by Islamic terrorists without warning, to the experience of walking into the WTC on 9/11/01 and being attacked and killed with no warning by Islamic terrorists.

I can't imagine anyone taking such a thing lightly unless they have bigotry and hatred in their hearts for those who would be killed or wounded.

2,000 rockets are MORE than enough to get really concerned about. That ONLY 6 were cited as being killed by those rockets is a miracle and I'd guess would not make any Israeli or Israeli Arab feel comforted or consoled.
