I'm looking forward to the womens 100 metres and see who turns out for the Jamaican team, they normally have a hot one running.

I don't put any stock into such things as favorites in the Olympics, especially in events like the triathlon. Jan Frodeno took gold in 2008, who had never won a major triathlon event in his life.

Indeed, the ukrainian was offside anyway. I think we have been very capable in this tournament so far and I'm quietly impressed and surprised too.

I think we have the 2 best full backs in the comp, the best gk and if rooney and gerard can play their game then we will get to the semi's.

I'm not discounting a Thunder comeback, but I expect the Heat to close out the series on Thursday, in 5 games. An OKC victory, though, could really throw this series up in the air.

Here comes the knockout stage! Who's gonna win & who am I cheering for? Will Portugal let me down? I don't think so, at least versus the Czech's; So lets go Portugal! I picked Germany to win it all & I still believe that; Germany should roll the Greeks. Many may discount France's chances against Spain...I don't! I give France a chance to win this game, therefore I will be cheering them on. Vive la France! Hmm, England vs. Italy, who do I dislike less? OK, I guess I'll be (reluctantly) cheering for the English!

You don't think Portugal will beat the Czech Republic? I'll be rather shocked if they don't get by C.R.
If they(Portugal)advance, I like their chances against France, but not so much against Spain.

Aye, Portugal did look quite good I must say.

Italy is breaking my heart. Extra time and no goal yet. I only started watching the last 20 minutes, but it's been all England and they're threatening to score.

italy always sorts it out in penalties. Pirlo penalty released the pressure onto the english side, really amazing.

England have a bad record with penalties. After watching that game, you must be quite hopeful for Portugal's chances if they meet Italy.

Well i think we'll do better against spain than france for some reason, even though france was frankly disappointing in the last game.
I always have mixed feelings about Italy, i never know what to expect from them. They do seem to be a more attacking side when compared to previous championships, and i also think their squad is the weakest in recent years. But with Buffon as goalkeeper anything can really happen.

Enough talk already about these fairy soccer dorks. Did anyone else catch the Victor Ortiz/Josesito Lopez fight last night? Lopez, who's a small 140 pounder moved up to 147 to fight Ortiz, who's huge at that weight. It was a good fight, and in the ninth round Lopez cracked Ortiz with a big shot that broke his jaw. The fight was stopped between rounds and Ortiz went back to his locker room spitting mouth fulls of blood the whole way. Big win for Lopez and a big blow to the career of Ortiz.

Yep, I had Ortiz ahead by 2 rounds, but a few of the rounds were basically a toss up and hard to say which one won the round.

I loved it though. Ortiz was up to his usual cheating ways during several points in the fight and probably outweighed Lopez by 20 pounds during the fight. Seeing Lopez break his jaw was great.

    Wimbledon starts tomorrow!
My men's pick is Djokovic & for the women, I'll go with Serena.
One of these years I'd like for Murray and/or Wozniacki to not disappoint in a major, but alas, they always do.

England's "ball control", was anything but. Justice was done when Italy won with the penalty kicks. I still expect Germany to win, but Italy could give them some problems, but the Italians need to finish better, obviously. I'll be cheering for Portugal, but it'll be a tall order beating Spain. I'm hopeful, though!

I don't think Andy has ever disappointed at Wimbledon. He has played well. He certainly ought to have got one or two other Opens, but he has played well at Wimbledon - but with the way he is playing at the moment I am not holding my breath for this year - though then again he is full of surprises.

There are also 3 of the best players of all time above him. He did though have the talent to win a few Opens, just bottled it on the day and that was when it was disappointing, for him more than anyone else.

Funny, the fight was on Showtime, in front of a packed crowd, and the highlights were on ESPN. It's cute you think you speak for the 7 billion people on this planet though.

By the way, did you switch the "s" and "z" keys on your computer or is your brain damaged?

my team is out so I just want entertaining football, Germany/Italy and Spain/Portugal could deliver both...agree on Italy needing to finish better they squander many opportunities and they won't get as much of the ball as they did vs england, Germany looks strong should come away with the win, unless it comes down to penalties...Portugal IMO doesn't have quite enough depth to defeat Spain, Ronaldo is a threat to score any time he gets the ball but getting him the ball will be the problem as Spain rarely gives up possession, Ronaldo's opportunities will be few and he needs to make those few chances count...I'm predicting a Spain/Germany final, Spain to win, Germany like Portugal needs to gain possession of the ball in order to attack and since the last WC no team has managed to do that vs Spain...

Boxing is an international sport, not just an American sport goofball. The fact that the fight was held in America is completly irrevelant. I know a fight may not be as exciting to you as a couple of queers kicking around a ball but that's why you have soccer.
