The most historically accurate Nativity Story film.

I saw this at the movies in 2006. All of the pesky/hating atheits should watch this as a history lesson. Not as a religious man, not as a christian man. Just as a historian, you all do love history right?... In my lifetime I've seen a lot of nativity story movies, this one is the best, most realistic so far. All the parts are now on youtube, watch and get educated. thank you.

This was the most historically accurate alien invasion story film that I've ever seen. I suggest you watch it.

 

I have. Saw it at the movies. And It's not the most accurate Alien film. The most accurate Alien invasion film is, Mars Attacks. Watch that one. Oh boy.

 

Because you posted this...Where does it say that you have to be a religious person to watch this movie??? It's like watching Titanic, the Alamo, gladiator or any other historical movie. why is it that it's about the Birth of Jesus that it becomes RELIGIOUS???

Don't know about history of it, etc., but it's a pretty good depiction. I saw it in the theater in 2006, and my family watches our DVD copy of it during the Christmas season.

Why do you say that? I did indeed watch some, did I miss the part where the Israelites were depicted as any thing other than caucasian?

 

With a scholarly understanding of the Dead Sea Scrolls and scrolls found at Qumran , you would know that the Nativity as popularly portrayed is complete nonsense .
If you are consoled by this tale , that is fine by me .It is silly but reasonably anodyne and harmless , But , at the same time , it is as truthful as the charming story about Father Christmas and his team of reindeers delivering presets around the world .

 

Most looked Middle Eastern--i.e. like Arabs. They were more brown than white.

In fact, a lot of the roles (besides Mary and Joseph) were played by Palestinians and Iranian-Americans. (Mary was played by a woman who's half Maori/half white, Joseph is Guatamalen/Cuban)

So the two central roles were played by a half white woman and a half spanish man. This is not historically accurate at all given the the Israelites were not mixed europeans. They were African mixed with Asian, big difference.

The ideaology that they were of european heritage is a myth that started in the 15th century by guess who? europeans, guess what else they were doing at this time to the 'African aspect' of the Isrealites?

 

Personally, I'd pursue how a snowman could be alive before judging the logic of where it should live. But that's just me.

The non-Arabs look fairly close to the Arabs in general looks. To claim they are European looking is just nonsense.
