That's true, sort of The WHOLE TRUTH is that hot days a little hotter than usual hot days, but 1 - there's more of 'em 2 - the lower temperature of each day has risen a lot 3 - the winters are now warmer
But there's no sudden flaring of temperatures for the American summer, otherwise our Australian winters would suddenly get hotter. It's a combination of factors.
It's not like there was a law against railroad transportation or some policy that killed it. They just lost the competition to the more convenient cars and faster planes. Consider this. 1 mile of a high-speed railroad in California estimated to cost $154 million which is literally a price of a new passenger plane. The cost of the average new car in the US is $40 000. So you can buy almost 4000 of them with this money. I know It's wrong to compare a production cost with a selling price but just to give an idea. Even in the 21st century, building a railroad is a devilishly difficult task. Add to this the fact that Americans are overweight and absolutely crazy about environmental impact and you get a mission impossible.
There is only one furnace. Of course there are many factors, most of which are natural. We have a long warming cycle today but it is arrogant to believe humans are in charge of it. We're ants on a log.
You also have to have a market for your public transportation service. I live in a fairly rural area and public transportation would be a financial burden on the community. A high speed rail seems like a way for a few people to make a lot of money at the expense of the average citizen.
Okay, tell me whay it is hot as Hades out west but much cooler than average in the southeast? Would the sun not make Alabama hotter also?
Everybody scream……. Lol the only way to reduce the human footprint on the world is to kill each other off or let Mother Nature do it. I’m guessing some liberal will push the motion soon
Agreed, here in Houston we break record high lows a lot in recent years. Its a given here that its going to be hot in the summer, but mid 80's(f) in the middle of the night is brutal, AC never gets a break.
As much as is caused by natural effects. So that would be determined by sunspot activity, solar output and position and tilt of the earth to the sun. Interestingly the sun is putting out unusually low energy at the moment, so we should be colder.
Yes that's why they chose 'Climate change' This winter global temperatures pushed the jet stream below the UK for several weeks, so polar air rushed into the void and we had extreme cold. The trouble with extreme cold is that it doesn't cancel out extreme hot weather.
Sure, and the guys who ought to know about all this aren't so much the climate ones but the insurance industry. And for many insurance companies the weather is just too variable to insure against anymore. Up in the arctic you get bubbles of super hot air pushing cold air out - like pushing your hand into a balloon you know the air will push out somewhere else, it has to. Look, I think I know where you come from. I can't stand the 'Climate Change' brigade, those whose real interest is the political. Often they are the same people who chant slogans about gay marriage, transgender, American Imperialism etc.. I believe that the climate had to change (due to carbon) long before these liberal woke folk cottoned onto this new issue. And I fear if I do mention it (as I did today about 49.6 C in British Columbia) that people will think I am being trendy too.
There seem to be several cycles which overlap and interact. They are the subject of ongoing research. As usual, I'm in the solar camp. SOLAR DEBUNKING ARGUMENTS ARE DEFUNCT
There are 400 year cycles, 1000 year cycles, etc. There is the 2.5 million year ice age we are in now that has a 100 thousand year cycles interspersed with mild inter-glacials like the one we are in now. There is the pattern of smooth to variable and back cycle of the jet stream pattern. There are so many known unknowns and unknown unknowns to climate change that the science never really rests and consensus is useless and counter-productive.
Politics has latched onto climate fear mongering for control and globalization. Politics tried the same with other issues like over-population. Politically the end game has never changed.
If you keep recycling debunked bulldust you will find….. Read my signature Once again 1) this is not research 2) it is a blog and since it’s “references” are to articles written by the author it puts it in the category of opinion 3) it’s a blog. NOT a published paper NOT a peer reviewed journal article and NOT worth a fart in a cyclone This is where you will find the real answers https://www.ipcc.ch/site/assets/uploads/2018/02/WG1AR5_all_final.pdf https://www.ipcc.ch/site/assets/uploads/2018/02/WG1AR5_SPM_FINAL.pdf
