Nor does your logic. My point is that if one wishes to cut spending it should be cut from many accounts not expanded in some and all cut from one. That is why I find the claim that this is an economic issue questionable.

But guess what? You didn't come up with a single dollar of federal spending you were willing to cut in order to spend on the Ukraine War.

Well at least you're being honest about it. Progressives on this forum who want to cut the defense budget are legion, but progressives who want to cut back our military commitments to match our budget are far more rare; I think you might be the first.

As an aside, I agree with you. We need to look at what sort of military commitments we can afford and we need a military scaled to that. The problem is that after the cold war we trimmed back our military quite a bit but not our commitments. I don't think we can afford that any longer.

 

What a democrat does is politics.
