The first testimonies in the Trump impeachment are done and they have been riveting. The question of whether or not Trump committed an impeachable offense has been answered with a resounding, yes. Witness after witness added brick after brick to the increasing mountain of evidence that Trump is guilty of violating the Constitution and has committed bribery, a high crime. The witnesses have been dedicated apolitical people of impeccable character and professional accomplishment. Republican attempts to besmirch or attack the character of these dedicated Americans has either gone flat or backfired. The question now is what do we do about it? There are more investigations and testimony to come. The House Intelligence Committee has signaled it isn’t done with its investigation. We have still not heard from the House Judicial Committee. Then, there are those individuals complicit in this scandal that have yet to be subpoenaed or taken the stand in behalf of the American people. Giuliani, Pompeo, Bolton, Perry and others have been implicated in the creation and operation of an alternate State Department. This Quasi State Department goal is pursuing and amplifying a conspiracy to smear Biden and others. After all this “Where do we, as Americans, go from here?” Once again we are at loggerheads. One side sees the President as clearly in violation of his oath of office, the other sided disagrees. Those who have watched the proceedings of last week are of two minds. One side calls, “No big deal.” The other sees a president and administration guilty of the deepest form of corruption and malfeasance. There is little doubt that Republicans have chosen to defend the president. The Democrats have dug for facts and evidence. Democrats have chaired the committee with Adam Schiff, a skilled prosecutor and Harvard law graduate. The other side, Devin Nunes, an ex-dairy farmer with ties to the president chairs for the minority. The witnesses have been loyal Americans skilled and professional in their commitment to America and our Constitution. Democrats have diligently questioned each witness with a clear goal to gather facts and build their case. Republicans, under, Nunes, have attacked the character, honesty, and integrity of each witness. The have demonstrated throughout the week that they have no interest in the law and have no defense. The sides are breathtakingly divergent in their views of the case, of the law, and of life itself. This will go one until it ends in the House of Representatives passing articles of impeachment to send to the Senate. One thing is clear, one can pledge their allegiance to America and its Constitution or worship at the alter of a false god.
I don't know about you but Trump stays in the White House and is re-elected in 2020. Impeach away there's no there, there and there never was and never will be no matter how much you try to interpret the narrative.
We will find out if either Mulvaney,Pence,Pompeo or Bolton put the country ahead of their personal loyalty to the pariah we have occupying our White House.
This will get dragged out till next October, no impeachment will happen, just to smear Trump all the way until the election.
Pretty much everything I know about this case, other than the general allegations, I know from having watched all of the testimonies. It was primarily Giuliani and Sondland who were committing the crimes, along with Mulvaney. It seems that Sondland was no diplomat and was just doing want Trump, Giuliani, and Pompeo told him to do. Pence was also involved as was Perry. Bolton is the odd man out. He seems to have been the one who blew up the deal. A few of the witnesses testified that Bolton referred to Giuliani and Mulvaney’s drug deal and told others to talk to lawyers, which all of them did. Considering how things have come out, it puts new light as to Bolton’s real reason for departing the White House.
Once again, please list all witnesses who have heard Trump say that he is holding the aid in exchange of Biden investigation. Please list them in alphabetical order.
Mick Mulvaney said so in a nationally televised news conference. And, according to testimony given in the hearings, it wasn’t in exchange for the investigations. Trump and company know that they are just peddling propaganda. They know investigations will not turn up wrong doing. The deal was just for Zelensky to make a public statement that he was going to launch investigations, which Trump and FOX News could use for domestic political purposes.
