You can order a Tesla X Plaid that goes 0 to 60 in 2 seconds.

And, it doesn't have an engine.

I think you focus on what is in front of you.

Engineers create solutions. They use science.

Scientists extend our knowledge of how the universe works. Science has knowledge as the goal.

I know you can search for a middle ground and mistaken terminology, like areas of bioengineering.

    But, the difference is meaningful.

Normal people don't buy a car to go 0 to 60 in 2 seconds. They buy a car to do work. And EVs suck at doing work.

The dudes engineering these windmills to separate water into hydrogen and oxygen sound pretty sketchy. But then I've never seen a hydrogen combustion engine that didn't come out of NASA's JPL either.

No it's not. Science that can't be applied to anything is just another PBS special- fascinating if you're a geek but does nothing beyond that.

Engineering is science put to use.

Which of the Democrat politicians that are constantly beating this drum have any education on this topic?

But you listen to them don't you?

So? Doesn’t mean you know squat about climate science. Tell you what though both @WillReadmore and I are lovers of GOOD science. Put up a systematic review of the science of an aspect of climate change nd we can review it together

The ones that only understand a small fraction of the science pertinent to that field but if you are the type to trust say an engineer to do an appendectomy then be my guest

Well, we have more than one company building semi truck and trailers.

But, I agree that ICE may do some stuff an EV doesn't do.

What use are you thinking of?

I think you mean Democratic politicians. You should at least be able to name your copmpetition!

And, yes. If a politician is poorly informed on climate, energy policy, economics, or other topics, I may well have to vote for someone who cared enough to be informed.

I call them Democrats because there's nothing Democratic about them.

Al Gore is the grandfather of all of this and yet none of his predictions have come to pass.... He predicted all of this Doom and gloom except back then they called it global warming but since that failed to pan out they had to change the name to "climate change".

How convenient, it's like a psychic cold calling technique that seems to work either way and one size fits all

The ones that rely on science not politics and there are more than on the right

I mean Pete Buttigieg is taken aback by someone who does not know the difference between seasons and climate change. I also love the replay of that epitome of idiots Jim Inhofe claiming that climate change wasn’t happening because HE had a snowball

Yes I distinctly remember the one Democrat that was very concerned that the island of Guam was going to tip over

Yes, predictions from climatologists come in a range. Gore reported the upper end of the range.

I've always thought that was a mistake, as it opened him for criticism.

So, rather that giving a rat's ass about Earth or America or what not, Republicans just camped out on the mistake.

They must be really popular cuz I haven't seen the first one on the road.

As a matter of fact I can't recall having seen anyone towing anything of any significance with any electric vehicle

I refuse to have my life micromanage in the name of climate mitigation when we have Nations like India and China that do the bulk of the polluting and no one says a damn thing to them.

Maybe if these politicians would start living like they want the rest of us to live and lead by example they might have some credibility.

Nobody listens to a hypocrite and hypocrites in high places are the absolute worst.

Yep, Hank Johnson. But, in all likelihood he was making a dry comment on what Guam was facing.

And, it's pretty pathetic if the Republican party uses that as an excuse for 25 years of climate ignorance.

The USA is far more responsible for where we are, because it was the industrial revolution that kicked this off.

And, today we emit more greenhouse gas per person than any of the countries you mention.

You don't get to be a leader with your demand for "do as I say, NOT as I do".

Are you kidding me? That's exactly what our leaders do.... The ones preaching this tend to own like five houses and travel around in Jets everywhere and probably have a fleet of vehicles

Not knowing about batteries does seem rather stupid but I still don't think that that can top the one about the idiot thinking that an island can tip over.
And let's not even quote some Democrats stupendously stupid gun control quotes
