Things are changing quickly in the Desperate World of Liberals... Rick Perry is the next big scary thing hiding under their beds!

Re the OP, you know, I'm sick of hearing this simplistic whine about Republicans being the ones against closing tax loopholes and raising taxes on the rich. #1, dems had control of both houses of congress for a whole year and they did nothing about either issue. #2, neither dems or reps are going to get excited about raising ANYBODY'S taxes in an election year. If Obama wants it done, he needs to LEAD them in that direction! Nothing is stopping the dems in congress from presenting a plan to do away with the Bush Tax Cuts... which BTW, will raise EVERYBODY'S taxes. Then presenting ANOTHER plan to cut lower income taxes while raising high income taxes. And doing the exact same thing about closing loopholes for corporations!

Why wasn't this on this the dems agenda while Barack was in his spending frenzy during that first year in office? When they could have sailed thru a tax reform bill???

Blaming the reps/tea party is nothing but scapegoating. Nobody's buying it but the sheeple.

No offense friend, but if you call Obama a socialist you don't know what a real socialist is.

I am in principle against raising taxes before cutting spending, period. This is an old liberal game, I am not playing.

If Michelle Bachmann is any measurement than I think there should be some level of natural fear.

Getting technical with definitions does not diminish the fact that Obama is for bigger more intrusive government.

How is pointing out perceived hypocrisy leftist drivel? Societies that properly implement what I fight for are doing far better than the United States. This close mined ideology you are espousing is only contributing to the decline of America. You condemn everything the left proposes as un-American or socialist seeing everything along strict partisan grounds. You do not objectively examine the opinions of those you disagree with and attack these viewpoints in a hostile fashion that is both ignorant and extreme.

It is this rhetoric that is only pushing America further downward and hastening the end of the American Century. What good does constantly attacking each other do for America? How about sitting down and discussing opposing views with civility and candor objectively pushing forward so you can perhaps become as informed as possible and contribute to progress for your country.

You can dismiss this as some "insert dismissal here", but the denial of the free flow of ideas only hurts us all and is profoundly ignorant.

We have gone down this road on this forum, 1000's of times and no one can agree on
what Capitalism is or Socialism is or , Communism is etc. Because there are so many
tweaks to each, So I will say that Obama himself wants Social justice, which requires
redistribution of property otherwise known as wealth.

NOW you may say Obama is a regular run of the mill politician. who just happens to
want to soak the rich so he can redistribute it, and he just happens to want medical
for ALL, and he just happens to have a father who was a socialist. The list goes on and
    on.

The whole democrat party is socialists, and just because they have not gotten all a
socialist would want to get passed, does not mean they are not socialist. if given more
power for a longer time, the democrat party would show you just how socialist they
are, but the Tea Party won't have it.

    You are very correct, MisLed.

It is very obvious from reading a number of posts in this discussion forum (such as the one by Montoya) that some individuals in this group who constantly attack the Tea Party really know absolutely nothing about the Tea Party.

For example, do these people know the word "TEA" actually stands for "Taxed Enough Already"? Here is a very good discussion of what the Tea Party Patriots are and what they support and what they are not and want to change.

As a matter of interest, I am a moderate and a centrist and I am not a Tea Party member. First of all I believe the wealthy should be taxed more to help pay down our national debt and I believe the 49% of us who pay absolutely no income tax at all should instead pay a moderate amount of tax to help the wealthy pay down our national debt.

It annoys me to no end when some individuals in this forum unceremoniously attack an entire group of people whom they know absolutely nothing about. This is NOT the America way, folks!

    You are kidding right?

Obama would sell Aluminum siding evoking Gods name if he knew it would sell Obama Care in the package...and he did....

    Talk about Hypocrisy......whew!!!

    http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2009/08/21/what_would_jesus_do_ask_obama_97974.html

This week, President Barack Obama claimed his version of health care reform is "a core ethical and moral obligation," beseeching religious leaders to promote his government-run scheme. Questioning the patriotism of opponents, apparently, wasn't gaining the type of traction advocates of "reform" had hoped.

"I know there's been a lot of misinformation in this debate, and there are some folks out there who are frankly bearing false witness," Obama said, invoking the frightening specter of the Ten Commandments.

Answer the question. What about the 50% of people who don't pay taxes? Why do you and other libs insist of playing class warfare while coddling the un-productive poor and penalizing those that employ people and produce goods? Wouldn't those 50% of people not paying taxes be the very ones that obama referred to when he said, "everyone needs to pay their fair share"?

The "50% of people who don't pay taxes" is just right-wing disinformation. You REALLY shouldn't believe everything that you read from right-wing sources. They are notoriously unreliable as far as reality and rationality are concerned.

Obama Sr was a socialist, Marxist and communist
An alcoholic and drunk driver, cheating wife-beater, and bigamist.
Also a taker of bribes while working in Kenyan govt.
A former Muslim who became an atheist.
He also attended Harvard but was expelled.

Barack's mom was a radical Marxist.

He grew up with Marxist friends and influence.

By his own admission he sought out the same kind of people in college.

What makes anyone think he is not what we came from, grew up with, and sought out?

It's all documented and easy to find.

I think the Republicans should be prosecuted. I'm pretty sure "Faux Outrage" was copyrighted by the Democrats/liberals/socialists years ago.

A bit overgeneralized. How about making distinctions, narrowing the finger pointing a bit?
How about abstaining from accusatory slurs and staying on subject?
Its difficult to discuss merit when one is distracted by abstract accusations....(not that you don't have a point, somewhere in there)

How dare corporations not pay U.S. taxes on money earned overseas. How can we support half our population in a tax-free zone with that sort of thing?
