AMC is glad to let us know that if you have dish, you can't watch it. They run that on every commercial break, "The Walking Dead, not available on Dish."

So, is Carol dead or what? And has Rick gone over the edge for good?

I still don't believe Carol is dead. But I think this group has learned their lesson from Sophia. If missing, assume dead. Notice Carl mentioned Andrea's name in the list of dead women from their group as well? If your missing you are assumed dead. This group is not going to look for you and lose half their group in the process like they did for Sophia.

As for Rick? If that phonecall is who I think it is, yeah...he's going to be a bit cookoo for awhile.

If you want to see the comic interpretation of that phone call watch this fan made video that recreates the scene from the comics. Though it'll definitely spoil the comics a bit. The scene in the comics happens well after the prison. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NS_5FV-W20g

I think we've learned that the producers are unafraid to branch off from the comics.

I don't think Carol is dead, but I also don't want to believe she is dead either. We'll have to wait & see. When the phone rang, the first thought that came to my mind, was that it was Shane "calling from the dead", re-iterating what a failure Rick is & that everyone would be alive if he, Shane, was there. Further sending Rick into "cookooville". Then I saw Hershel talking to Rick (preview)& thought maybe it was him(Hershel) trying to find him(Rick), & somehow the internal prison phones were working. I don't know anything about the comics & I haven't looked at your link yet.

Where it counts they've stayed faithful. And thus far where they have differed has imo made the story better.

This post contains comic book spoilers! Not sure if it's TV show spoilers yet

Rick, Glenn and Michonne spot a helicopter in the sky and soon after it crashes in the woods. They go in to investigate and while they're on the road they discover Woodbury and meet the governor. At first the governor is very hospitable and shows them around the strangely peaceful city. Eventually the tour stops at the gladiatorial arena we saw in the last episode. We watch the gladiators battle near walkers while the crowd chears. Then The Governor whispers to Rick that they feed the walkers people who roam into Woodbury. Before Rick can respond they capture the group and force them into interrogation. They demand to know where the rest of Rick's group is, All 3 say that they are the group and there is no one else. The governor does not believe it and as a show of force and intimidation he cuts off Rick's hand. Michonne upon seeing this, tackles the governor and bites off his ear. Eventually she is overpowered though and all 3 are captured. Rick sent to the infirmary to recover so the governor can get more information out of him. Glenn sent to solitary confinement. And Michonne sent to a dark room where the governor rapes and tortures her every day for the rest of her time in Woodbury.

No idea if this is going to happen in the show though. The comic writer regrets the decision to cripple the main character because it means he can't be involved in the main action. So the comic writer is probably recommending that they don't do it. Though in the show we got Merile. I'm wondering if he's not going to see it as poetic justice to cut someone in the groups hand off.

There are already a few differences between the comic and the show.

One, Andrea is still missing. She's not in Woodbury. Later we find out she's with Dale (who's still alive at this point) and they are driving the RV.
Two, Michonne met Rick before the governor.
Three, The governor obviously doesn't feed people who wander into Woodbury to the walkers. However he does feed them SOMETHING. There wasn't broccoli in that feeding bucket that was dropped after Michonne killed all those captive walkers. And I don't see any livestock.
Four, Merile and Daryl do not exist in the comic book world. So there is no telling what their characters will add to this story. But I expect it will be significant given the reunion of two brothers on two opposite ends of the battle field.

I understand that it's fiction but at least put some credibility

Michonne shows up outside of the prison when she had no clue "the group" was there and she knew where it was and found it on foot.........come on man

The governor says that Rick's group will come looking for the 2 prisoners. Why would Rick's group consider that anything other than being attacked by zombies happened? They aren't even aware of the governors group or where it is other than the first point, Michonne showing up at the exact location of where the group is.

Keep in mind that everything is happening within roughly a 10 mile radius. Remember that at the end of season 2 they were less than a mile away from the prison. But they didn't find it until after the winter. It's possible somewhere during the winter Michonne and Andrea found it first and decided that it was too risky to try to take the prison by themselves so they moved on.

So when she overheard Glenn and Maggie talk about the prison she knew exactly where it was since it's unlikely there is more than one prison in the area.

10 mile radius? When was that mentioned? In any event, even if it is that then a 10 mile radius is 63 square miles or over 43,000 acres. The proverbial needle in the haystack doesn't hold a candle to what Michonne was able to accomplish

So it looks like it's an even shorter distance than I thought. Woodbury and the prison are only 2 miles apart. That's about a half hour's walk.

Ehh, I have a harder time swallowing her crazy sword skills. Not sure what could be a plausible explanation but perhaps she descended from her life at a samurai temple just before the outbreak.

Her story is she's a former lawyer (kinda a silly occupation for someone so quiet) who just happened to take a lot of sword fighting classes for fun.

I wouldn't have guessed that occupation, but I am sure the zombie apocalypse changes people somewhat.

I looked at the graphic novels a couple of times but wasn't really digging the art work for a zombie book, a little too cartoonish for the genre in my opinion.

It does explain why she was so untrusting of the governor though.

Between her distrust and Dale's big brother being his right hand man not sure why Andrea trusts him.

Andrea still has a bit too much nativity. She still thinks a normal life is possible. She will get a wake up call soon. Michonne and most of Rick's group no longer think this.

Andrea seems all over the place with her decisions, she could use a wake up call. I like Michonne, I hope she joins the group now at the prison.

I throughly enjoyed the last episode. Very interested to see what will happen between the two groups.

I think the next episode is going to be EXTREMELY harsh on the two most innocent women in the show (Carol and Maggie)

Glenn is going to get beaten to near death (if not all the way to death) and Maggie will likely get it even worse.

And who knows what will happen to Carol.

Next episode is going to cause a whole lot of feels. It's a very interesting change from the comics because Maggie really hasn't had anything terrible happen to her in the comics. I think being captured by the governor is going to have a terrible affect on her character. TV fans don't know how bad he is yet.

I thought I heard that in the comics, Michonne was raped & tortured by the Governor. I'm wondering if this is what happens to Maggie, possibly by Merle.
