Its bucketing rain now. The moment I considered heading to the shops, the heavens opened and the rain starts pouring down.
Well here it is Sunday morning. The outside temperature is 5 degrees right now. Thankfully, the system that was supposed to bring in more snow has moved north of us and I don't have to go outside and do any shoveling today. But of course the day isn't over yet either.
Sunday morning here ... the lower sixties and cloudy. Highs in the seventies...will stay warm till at least wednesday. Toward the weekend...cooling...should be below freezing Sunday night.
3:30 in the morning, Monday. Still snowing. Getting real tired of this white stuff already. Gotta get off my duff and go and shovel some more today. When I get elected President, I will make a law that says all scientists must work on weather control until they can actually do it. Then no more snow just 70 degrees alll year long with a little rain now and then. China and Russia and a few other countries will get all of the lousy weather all of the time. Like Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan all would be 50 below zero all of the time with 60 mph winds.
Well it is now starting to get a little cold here in Jackson. It got down to 1 degree this morning. Hope you guys are warmer.
Man talk about a bummer of a forecast this is for tomorrow. Sunday: A 20 percent chance of snow. Partly sunny, with a high near 19. Wind chill values as low as -10. South wind 6 to 9 mph becoming north. Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around -18. Wind chill values as low as -30. Northeast wind between 6 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.
Strange weather here. Almost as strange as last winter, when we were all under snow for months. Normally snow lies on the ground maybe one day a year. November was the warmest for years and last week this happened. Unusual even for us. If you look at the tower in the background, it's the town hall which I posted in another thread (what's your shopping centre like, or similar title) and this is the main road I travel every day to work: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-south-scotland-15922080 The high road was also closed and trains were off. I was marooned at Port Glasgow with flood water on both sides, so I went into Tesco for a cup of tea with all the other stranded people. We all exchanged stories and then I went round the shop and bought the Christmas thank yous. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJqkFSw3L5w&feature=related"]A Greenock Man Beats Flood.mp4 - YouTube[/ame] With the flooding and the traffic and broken down cars, it took 5 hours to get back home and I live 5 miles from there.
HI Viv. Yeah I know what you mean about unusual weather. Here it has been colder than usual and we are getting snow earlier than usual also. My problem is that we are only getting from 1 to 2 inches at a time. Not enough to use the snow blower on so I have to shovel the darn stuff.
Seems like the weather all around the world has gone crazy. Like no snow in switzerland in the mountains.
Oh no....it's started snowing. The terror has begun. Make your way over with the old snow shovel then, will you Sir?
I shall endevear to do my best. But I do think that it will take me some time so just hunker down by the fireplace with a hot cup of chocolate and be patient.
From Brighton on the south coast of south east England . Looks like our amazing long Autumn is finally over . Instead of plus 12 - 14 ,we are looking at a high of plus 7 today , and over the next 10 days , it is forecast about the same -- between 7 and 10 . I guess the heating will go on later today and no more T shirts and bare arms .
Approximately same weather down here: Sunny 6°C Wind: SW at 14 km/h Humidity: 81% I must say I enjoy the blue skies. Last night we got hit by a short but intense rain, and heavy winds scattering all sort of detritus - apocalyptic compared to the cold but calm morning we have today.
It is -8 degrees outside this morning and the temperature is still dropping. It is supposed to be the same tomorrow with freezing fog.
It's still here. The weather in my neighborhood, that is. I don't think it's fixin' on movin' anytime soon.By maybe it mite.Sometimes it's hard to tell if weather is moving. Depends weather or not one can read clouds.Or the wind. A barometer. BTW ... how does a barometer work.? I've been to many a Bar in my heyday and no barkeep has ever explained it to my satisfaction.
It seems warm for this time of year. No snow and lows are just starting to go below zero. It was 10 yesterday. Today, it's 6 and rainy. I like this global warming thing if it makes winter shorter.
I agree, considering that just to the north of us in yellowstone it was 30 below this morning. It was 11 below here in Jackson.
