They should make it a crime to do vasectomies & tubals even if patient wants it.

You're lecturing about misogyny when it's my view that it's misogynist to support woman being spayed. I support choice when it comes to birth control but am against sterilizations. Since I also believe in abolishing vasectomies, that disproves your allegation that it's misogynist. I already have said that I'm pro-abortion in some cases on many websites including Political Forum. WhatNow, if you're going to repeat theme that pro-lifers are men who want to control women's bodies, then I don't think you're saying what you don't believe. Pro-life women such as former Alaska Gov. Sarah Louise Palin disprove the idea that pro-lifers are just grumpy old men who want to control women and among pro-lifers, I've read that the # of men & women who are pro-life are almost =. You're reading this from some1 who is not pro-life on abortion. But making sterilization surgeries a crime is = abolishing Female Genital Mutilation and tubal ligations are mutilations. Tubal ligations are misogynist. Use condoms, pills or Rhythm Method if you don't want to get pregnant or be celibate.

I really never expect misogynists to admit that they are misogynists but there are your words to prove it. Your repeated obssession , in here and other threads, with women' reproduction systems is proof enough.
I have big news for you...women can be misogynists...yes, women who have been brainwashed into thinking that they are something "less than" men often hate themselves and other women and wish to punish and controll other women....evidence is in this forum.

Tubal ligation is not misogynistic, it's a choice women make...anything that takes away women's choice IS misogynistic.

Sterilzation USED to be forced on some women by misogynists but hopefully not anymore in the US.

Okay WhatNow!?, me misogynist. Other misogynists are Former Alaska Governess Sarah Louise Palin, Costa Rica President Laura Chinchilla Miranda as both women though smart and the 2nd a nation's leader are both misogynists because they are pro-life. Guess WhatNow!? that me misogynist because also against vasectomies. Both vasectomies & tubals raise cancer risks. What you ignore WhatNow!? is that all things =, if you have woman with all parts intact vs. a woman who has had tubal, most men would do it with woman with all parts intact. Most women would choose man with all parts intact vs. man who got vasectomied. Make vasectomies and tubals criminal.

Where do you get your info that men and women prefer the other with parts intact?

As to the rest of your post.... emedlaulgh.gif

Because a man who had vasectomy is a neutered 1 and a woman who got tubal is a spayed 1-yes I know what Peridochas wrote about the differences but that's what I call it. When a person is intact, they weren't operated on or chopped up. If a woman has naturally large boobs vs. a woman who has implants, most men will choose the woman with naturally big boobs-in fact, most men would want a woman with natural boobs whether her boobs are small, medium or big vs. a woman who has artificial 1s.

They are definitely not neutered/spayed. They are even sexier because they don't have to worry about unwanted pregnancy. It is something that cannot be seen and is therefore undetectable. No one would know unless you told them.

And what does that have to do with boobs? Once in bed most men don't pay any attention to them.

Do you have any facts to back this information up? If I've had my Wisdom teeth pulled does this mean that no man will ever want to kiss me? Sex is sex, and fertility is desirable for family planning, not purely for a sexual relationship.

Unwanted pregnancies are best prevented using any means possible. Methods like using condoms and birth control pills are great, but they can also be very expensive. Women should always have complete control over their bodies. Sterilization is a necessary option. It may be much more practical to pay once for a tubal ligation than to spread out the cost of many years of other birth control. I disagree that men and women won't prefer this. If there is a fear of unwanted pregnancy, sex will be more stressful, and therefore less enjoyable, than sex without that fear.

Mrs. Linda P. Harvey of Mission America has said a reason is sex is supposed to be pleasurable is because of pregnancy. Here's what she said 'There's a reason sex is intensely pleasurable. New human life may be the product of that intensity.' The whole article is here http://missionamerica.com/articletext.php?artnum=294 Birth control such as condoms and the pill are good enough. Sterilizations are maimings which must be abolished. Finally as already said, most married couples sex lives becomes boring eventually and many marriages eventually become celibate because sex becomes boring as it becomes familiar and people know what to expect. Sex is best in a marriage during the 1st few years especially the first year & then becomes boring for most as it's familiar & not new anymore.

I see where all of your points are coming from, but I don't think that they support your claim. If sex is supposed to be pleasurable only because of pregnancy, then sex using condoms or birth control pills would be just as boring as sex after sterilization. All of them stop the possibility of pregnancy, so therefore these is no difference between them. Also, if it's a couples choice to have "pleasure-less" sex without fear of pregnancy, then that should be their decision.

Yes many married people loose interest in sex over time (although many do not as well). But anything looses it's excitement over time. I used to love roller coasters, but now that I've been on them so many times I don't find them as exiting. If suddenly you told put me on a roller coaster and told me that there was a 1% chance that I would fall off, it wouldn't make it any more exiting, it would make it terrifying and I would be less likely to ride them in the future. The same goes for sex. If I don't want to get pregnant, and even a slight risk it there, then I'll be less likely to want to have sex and more likely to become celibate.

I think that married people (and all people) are much more likely to stop having sex if the risk out-weights the pleasure. If a poor woman has children, and knows that she doesn't want any more and/or can't afford to have any more children, then she has a right to decide to have a tubal ligation. Adding up the costs, it could be much cheaper than paying for birth control for the rest of her life. Even if she could afford other forms of birth control, they are not 100% effective, and a pregnancy could cause this woman to be in a desperate situation.

Point blank, women need to have complete control of their bodies. Sterilization can be an ideal option.

Lizz08, actually most people's sex lives eventually will run out and most marriages will become celibate as the sex bores out with familiarity. Condoms & the pill are not 100% proof but they're good enough or people can have choice to be celibate. Pregnancy risk if anything is what makes sex exciting as people less likely to have sex and when they do have the sex, it's pleasurable, as it's not something they always have.

But if a couple has sex alot, then it will become boring faster. Sterilization surgeries lead to boring sex lives as @ the start, people do it so much that they eventually get bored with it. Marriages should eventually become celibate, but it must happen later when both the couple are in their mid 40s, have been married 15 to 20 years & had sex so many times that they don't need it anymore. When a married couple are in their 20s & 30s, that's the only time in life they can enjoy sex. I know some people will say their sex life in their 40s is as good or better as when they were first married but it's human nature to say you're good or better @something when you're older. The only time in life when a married couple can enjoy sex is when they're newlyweds in their 20s to early 30s & after a certain time in life, it's best for a couple to stop having sex because of nature-old age where a woman can't have any more kids. Finally most porn stars get bored of sex because it's too easy for them to get as if a man can have sex with many beautiful women which is what happens in porn, then he'll get bored of sex because it's too easy to get. In life, if you always get what you want with no challenges, then life gets boring.

Funinsnow..... where do you get your information from? Scientifically, women are more likely to experience orgasms as they age (regardless of any type of birth control, including sterilization!) making sex significantly more enjoyable in at lease some aspects as people age. If you're arguing from a biological standpoint, why are women biologically more likely to enjoy sex after their child-bearing days have passed? Even despite these points, this is completely unrelated to reproductive choice.

Sterilization isn't directly related to the frequency of sex or when a couple will get bored of sex. Every couple is different and therefore every person has the right to decide what is right for himself or herself. Maybe a couples sex life will get boring because they are afraid of pregnancy so they stop having sex completely (this could be way earlier than mid-40s like you suggest). You're entire argument is based on huge generalizations (many of which you don't support with any solid facts). You aren't taking into consideration that all people are different and options need to be available to give everyone proper control of his or her own body.

Lizz08, the sexual peak is false. Both men & women as they get older have more physical problems which cause libido loss. Sexual peak are people trying to justify the idea that they're better @ sex vs. when they were younger. Products to raise sex libido be it Viagra or for women Zestra mainly sell to people older such as post menopausal women so women are biologically less likely to enjoy sex after child-bearing days have passed. Sexual peak are men & women (usually women) saying what they want to believe. Yes, you can get experts who speak about 'sexual peak' but these experts are saying what they know is false. The sexual peak has been debunked as false & again it's older people trying to justify idea they're better @ sex in their older years when again, products to raise libido mainly sell to post menopausal women & when people get older, they're more likely to have medical problems such as diabates, heart, etc. which lower libido.

But as my post is about reproductive choice-to repeat, I support birth control such as pills and condoms. I also support abortion and am pro-abortion if it can be predicted an unborn baby will be gay, lesbian or transexual. Abort the transexuals-as they're worse than the gays & lesbians. Sterilization surgeries must not be a choice. Know it's repeating but nothing new can be said.

When I wrenched, I worked with a stunning woman...I'm not sure I have EVER seen someone more in love than Sarah & her husband. She had a traffic-stopping figure, flaming red hair...and two kids in college. (When she left the shop, she was 48. She once came in on her day off to pick up her paycheck wearing a halter top & shorts...the boss saw her get out of her Z-car & promptly walked into a counter.) Married 25 years, they ACTED like newlyweds.

You don't always know all that goes in a person's life. It's possible that they don't have a sex life anymore & it's possible the husband could be having an affair with a younger woman-not saying that it's happening but I don't believe their sex life is as good as when they
first got married. Sexual peak has been debunked as false & again it's older people trying to justify idea they're better @ sex in their older years-people who have good sex lives don't have to justify it. Actors Naveen Andrews & Ashton Kutcher both said that they were happy
with their cougars especially with Naveen Andrews & both men were later found having affairs with younger women-Naveen Andrews fathered a child with a woman in 2004 who was a younger version of his cougar Barbara Hershey & it's rumored that he had flings with
    other women.

Way to bring down cancer is also to abolish sterlizations.

    http://onemoresoul.com/contraception-abortion/sterilization/female-sterilization.html

    Is vasectomy associated with cancer?
According to the American Cancer Society, prostate cancer is the most common cancer for males in America. In the year 2011, 238,467 new cases of prostate cancer were identified and more than 33,000 men died from prostate cancer or its complications.11 Although mortality rates from prostate cancer have decreased, more than two million men are living with this disease.
Risk factors for prostate cancer include non-modifiable risk factors such as family history of prostate cancer and ethnicity (African-American males have a high incidence of prostate cancer), and modifiable risk factors such as diet, alcohol consumption, and smoking. Even though medical and government organizations do not regard vasectomy as a risk factor for prostate
cancer,12 several studies have noted that men who undergo a vasectomy have a higher
incidence of developing prostate cancer, especially 15-20 years after their vasectomy. 13,14,15 A large study looking for a link between prostate cancer and vasectomy was done in the 1990’s. The author of this study found a significant increase in the risk of cancer in males who had undergone vasectomy at a young age (less than 35 years).16 After the publication of these studies, the National Cancer Institute and other organizations sponsored a conference in 1993 to debate the association between prostate cancer and vasectomy. Experts concluded that the risk was very small and just due to chance. However statistical analysis of recent studies claiming no link indicates a significant link between vasectomy and prostate cancer.17,18 Also, research has demonstrated that hormonal alterations due to vasectomy (such as high testosterone levels) could coincide with increases in prostate cancer.19,20

    Is vasectomy associated with
    psychiatric problems?
Researchers from Northwestern University in Illinois published a study that looked into one patient’s belief that his dementia resulted from his vasectomy.21 His was not a common dementia; it was a relatively new kind of dementia called Primary Progressive Aphasia (PPA). Its onset is characterized by language impairment (aphasia) rather than the forgetfulness characteristic of Alzheimer’s Disease. Another reason for the study was the interesting fact that the testicles and the brain have similar molecular substances. Vasectomy may have a role in the development of PPA based on the immune reactions to sperm after vasectomy and on the similarity of brain and sperm proteins. New antibodies produced after vasectomy may attack brain cells and cause PPA. The authors found that 40% of the men in their study who suffered from PPA also had undergone vasectomies. The study involved a control group of males who did not have PPA, and 16% of that group had vasectomies. The study revealed that PPA subjects had their vasectomy at a younger age—36 years old on average. In contrast, the control group had their vasectomies performed at an average age of 44 years. It appears that longer exposure to this sort of immune attack increases the probability of developing PPA. A recent case report analyzed whether or not the use of steroids (drugs that inhibit the immune system) could modify the symptoms of PPA. The authors of this study found improvement in one
patient suffering from PPA after the steroid treatment. Although more research with large populations is needed, the improvement in this particular case supports the hypothesis that PPA in men may be a treatable autoimmune disease related to vasectomy.22

    Are there emotional disorders
    related to vasectomy?
Emotional disorders such as anxiety, depression and changes in personality have been reported after vasectomy.23 Men who had undergone vasectomy have reported regret, resentment, and feelings that their masculine image has been threatened.

    Risks from tubal ligation itself

    Menstrual disorders5
    Ovary dysfunction6
    Ectopic pregnancy7
    Remorse8
Long-term psychological effects such as depression and anxiety have been reported by women after tubal ligation.9

The probability of undergoing hysterectomy within 14 years after sterilization is 17%.10

SFJeff, Black woman Representative Yasmin Neal agrees with me on abolishing vasectomies & tubals, see here http://blogs.ajc.com/political-insi...omen-seek-a-state-ban-on-vasectomies-for-men/ Here she talks of vasectomies. Please see video & share your view SFJeff on what this Black woman thinks. SFJeff, it's so easy to understand that even a Black woman knows vasectomies should be abolished as in this video. SFJeff please don't copy/paste your answer but give your view on the video here but what you think of this woman after seeing video. Thanks.

One thing one can always count on no matter which discussion board they frequent, there will no shortage of crackpot ideas suggested, almost scary to know people actually think these "ideas" are ok.

I believe we may need to convince the Right to merely abstain from the abomination of hypocrisy in modern times for this to work.
