He hates America. It's that simple.

It's clearly on video to see and hear at the link.

The X-twitterverse is having some fun with this.

My favorite is Peter Stzrok. LOL. Well, for those who understand the history of the Isle of Elba.

Had John Kerry or Barack Obama or Joe Biden ever said something like this, the conservaverse would be grabbing for those smelling salts right away and screaming TRAITOR!

And he doesn't sing the anthem either, and I have been told that means he harbors deep seated hatred for his country

Lock 'im up before he flees the country!

What makes him think France would want him there?

I could have been relaxing at Mar-a-Lago or in the south of France ― which I would prefer to being in this country, frankly.”

But, but he’s a true patriot

Perhaps it's time to do something about 'catch and release'. 'Conservatives' and Republicans complain about the practice here in my city of New York. Mr. Donald Trump is indicating that he might be a flight risk.

    Regards, stay safe 'n well.

If he had decided to relax at Mar-a-Lago in 2016, the country would be a lot better off right now, much less polarized. But, no, he HAD to come down that elevator to stroke his ego...

well i don't think in france they indite former presidents for saying "Protest peacefully". If anything, France could benefit from that advice. They have a lot of protests over there and many are not "peaceful". I LOVE how you guys still hang on every word he says though. He sure wields some serious influence over YA'LL.

And if had acted like every other ex-potus in history after losing the 2020 election, instead of a seditious traitor, he would be riding high for 2024 instead of facing hundreds of years behind bars for all his criminal actions.
I love that karma is catching up with him since he has been breaking the law for decades.

They don't "indite" people in the US for it either. You seem confused about the indictment. Perhaps educate yourself before you make a foolish statement...oops...too late. And no, I won't educate you on the indictment, because it's a fools errand.

And we would have been stuck with Hillary Clinton who is equally divisive and a master at taking bribes. Remember the “basket of deplorables” quote?

Oh yea. You probably agree with it.

Why Hillary, when there were 16 other GOP candidates, some of which were quite credible and capable of beating Hillary?

Wow! You would vote for a Republican? Call me skeptical.

The last two Republicans, who were the last two candidates left against Trump, were Ted Cruz and John Kasich. You might have voted for Kasich in 2020 after he came out against Trump in a big way at the Democrat Convention, but that was in 2020. As for Ted Cruz, I know to answer for that candidate for you, NEVER!

I always vote either 3rd party or Republican. I voted for Ron Paul many times. I didn't agree with everything he said, but I like people who stand by their principles, as opposed to saying what people want to hear. Paul made no bones about what he supported or opposed, and many would not have agreed with his policies but that is different from being divisive and playing people against each other like Trump and DeSantis do. So, Dems would have disagreed wit Paul, but they also would have respected him.

Cruz is a partisan hack, but Kasich was a great candidate. In 2016 I voted libertarian, knowing he didn't have any chance, but Hillary and Trump were out of the question. I hope Kasich runs again. - or Romney.

Not true. The current generation of Democrat leaders have no respect for any of their colleagues except those who vote the party line 100% of the time. Look at hits Joe Mansion has taken for his stands that did not agree with the Democrat program. No, the Democrats are a very intolerant group.

If Ron Paul had become president, that Democrats would have vilified him almost the same way as they vilified Trump. His positions were far closer to Trump’s than Bernie Sanders.

If you were a true libertarian, you would be very turned off by the high spending, high taxes policies of the Democrats, but you say that that in your posts.

Oh really? You voted for Romney over Obama? That's hard to believe.

As for Kasich, he was a long time commentator on Fox News before he ran for president. He was a lot more than just a guest commentator. He was a show host. Did you know that?

    If you say so.

I don't recall saying I am a "true libertarian". Yes, Dems spend, but.....are taxes high? No, they are not. Taxes are very low, except property taxes in places like Florida. Sure, Ron Paul would have cut spending, but like I said, - he made no bones about it, and I voted for him. I respect people who stand by their principles.

Both parties spend, and deficits go up. I have never disputed that.

If you were a conservative, you'd be very turned off by the high spending of Republicans, but you don't say that. You know who did say it though? Rand Paul did. When GOP took control of the House in 2017, they passed a budget which hiked spending by 20%, and they did it after spending years pretending the deficits were a big problem. Rand Paul said his fellow Republicans defined the words "intellectual dishonesty" and "height of hypocrisy". He also added that when Republicans are in control, there is no conservative party in US. He is a man of principle.

I dont use the programs Dems want funding for and I have absolutely nothing against Conservatism, its the populist pseudo-conservatism which is poisoning the nation at this point. Populists, by their very definition, cannot have principles, because being a populist requires them to shift and change their stance to whatever is popular at any given time.

Yep. But in typical fashion, he is whining about what is being done to him rather than accepting even a tiny bit of responsibility for his actions which have precipitated all his trouble.

No, I voted for Ron Paul. I take it you pulled for Obama.

Romney would be a much better choice than Trump, DeSantis or Biden

    And?

You may be right, but they probably do indict them for all the things Trump did BEFORE he tried tweeting that paltry damage control.

I am 100% in favor of cutting government spending across the board, except for defense, given the way China, Russia, Iran and North Korea are acting. I wish the defense budget could be lowered too, but I can't see how that can happen right now.

I'd given up my Social Security payments if it were part of an overall program to cut government spending. I'd be in favor of taxing every dime of wages beyond the $160,000 threshold to keep the system solvent for old people who really need it.

The Republicans have been bad and very hypocritical on the government spending issue. The Democrats have gone nuts, however, with these multi-trillion dollar bills they have been pushing. If you want to slow inflation, Congress needs to do its part too, not just the Federal Reserve.

NO!!!! I held my nose and voted for McCain in 2008. I even gave a little money to his campaign. I worked for Romney in 2012. I was out knocking on doors in the Florida heat and manning the phones at the campaign office.

I have not voted for a Democrat for president since Jimmy Carter in 1976. The 1980 was the year I changed parties. I worked for Carter 1976 and McGovern in 1972.

And what? What are you fishing for? I was simply pointing out that Kasich worked for "the evil Fox News," and not on a casual basis.

Ironically some of the West European countries who Americans think are 'socialist' are actually less socialist than us when it comes to SS. They have private retirement accounts, which they fund during their career, and after a full career they can expect to be able to draw about 60% of their former salary, and since the accounts are their personal accounts they tax payer is off the hook. In US the tax payer is funding retirees income.
