I never thought that he was smart at all. That was confirmed when he said that knowing what we know now, he would have still invaded Iraq. He's a Bush for Christ's sake!

A couple of weeks ago when he was asked what he likes to read he said Charles Murray. He's pandering to the lowest common denominator.

    Really? This Charles Murray?

Charles Alan Murray (born 1943) is an American paleoconservative and paleolibertarian leaning political scientist, author, columnist, and pundit.

Jeb is proving him wrong on that one

Now That He's Running For President, Let's Look At Jeb Bush's Worst Comments About Gay People http://www.thenewcivilrightsmovement.com/rachelwitkin/jeb_bush_s_top_ten_anti_gay_comments

    1. In 1994, Jeb Bush framed same-sex marriage as “sodomy.”

“[Should] sodomy be elevated to the same constitutional status as race and religion? My answer is no,” he said.

    2. Arguing against legal protections for LGBT people, he also said they were undeserving of even being called “victims.”

“We have enough special categories, enough victims, without creating even more,” he wrote.

    3. And he put them in the same category as “pedophiles.”

“Polluters, pedophiles, pornographers, drunk drivers, and developers without proper permits receive — and deserve — precious little representation or defense from their governor. The statement that the governor must stand up for all people on all matters is just silly,” Bush said.

    4. He, along with his brother, supported a constitutional amendment that would state marriage is only between a man and a woman.

“To defy the law and something as sacred as a covenant as marriage, I think, is wrong, and it only, I think, leads us to believe that it's important to put this in the Constitution, which should be the last resort, “ he said. “That's why I support the president's efforts. He has been a strong, moral leader. His compass points north. People know what he believes and stands for. People underestimate that in politics today.”

    5. And he wrote plenty of anti-gay emails during his time as governor, including this:

“The institution of marraige [sic] is under attack in our society and it needs to be strengthened,” he wrote. “This does not have to be at the expense of other kinds of relationships but in support of the most important institution in our society.”

    6. And offered this staunch opposition to same-sex marriage.

“I do not support gay marriages being recognized in Florida,” he wrote. “That is the law and it will stay that way.”

    7. Now he thinks states should be allowed to discriminate on marriage.

“It ought be a local decision. I mean, a state decision,” he said. “The state decided. The people of the state decided. But it’s been overturned by the courts, I guess.”

    8. He thinks that same-sex marriage will cause unemployment.

"Religious freedom is a serious issue, and it's increasingly so, and I think people that act on their conscience shouldn't be discriminated against for sure and there should be protections," he said. “As it relates to marriage equality that may change, the Supreme Court may change that, that automatically then shifts the focus to people of conscience that out of their faith may want to act on their faith and may not be able to be employed, for example or may not want to provide services for a gay wedding. People I think have the right to do that just as we need to be respectful of people who are in long-term committed relationships. Sorting that out is important."

    9. And that people wouldn’t be criticizing "religious freedom" laws if they really understood it.

"I think if you, if they actually got briefed on the law that they wouldn’t be blasting this law," he said. "I think Governor Pence has done the right thing. Florida has a law like this. Bill Clinton signed a law like this at the federal level. This is simply allowing people of faith space to be able to express their beliefs, to have, to be able to be people of conscience. I just think once the facts are established, people aren’t going to see this as discriminatory at all.

    10. And it’s clear now that his ideas really haven’t changed that much.

“I believe in traditional marriage,” he said as recently as February. Last month, Bush announced there is no constitutional right to same-sex marriage, adding that only traditional marriage can give "children born in poverty" a chance. He also stated wedding-related vendors should be legally protected from doing business with marrying same-sex couples.

As expected, Jeb Bush officially announced his candidacy today.

Although he is not my first choice for the GOP nomination, I certainly do not find him entirely unacceptable, as some do. (Some Republicans have vowed that they will not vote for him, if he should get the nomination. That is just too extreme for my own tastes.)

Just yesterday, on Fox News Sunday, George Will noted the following:

    (1) He (Will) cast his first vote for president in 1964. It was for Barry Goldwater.

    (2) He (again, Will) once worked for the late William F. Buckley Jr.

    (3) He now works for the Scott Walker campaign.

The first two points should help to establish his own conservative bona fides.

And the final point should put to rest any thought that he might be biased in favor of Jeb Bush.

Yet he describes Jeb Bush as a "Ronald Reagan conservative."

Jeb Bush has fallen out of favor, among some conservatives, because of (1) his support of Common Core (which Will characterizes as being spectacularly wrong); and (2) his stated belief that illegals should have some sort of pathway to legalization (albeit not necessarily citizenship).

Yet, as Ronald Reagan once noted, if one agrees with a person 80 percent of the time, that person should be seen as a friend--not as a 20 percent enemy.

For openers, my name us not "buba" (or Bubba).

More importantly, perhaps, your list in rather disingenuous. For instance, the statement that Jeb Bush once placed homosexuals "in the same category as 'pedophiles,'" while technically correct, misses the point (perhaps intentionally?): The list also contains "[p]olluters,...pornographers, drunk drivers, and developers without proper permits." To Imply, therefore, that Jeb Bush equated homosexuals with pedophiles makes just about as much sense as it would to claim that he equated "developers without proper permits" with pedophiles...

Besides Brother Dub, Jabba's major handicap is his ability to speak to Hispanic Americans in Spanish.

They can understand what he's saying.

Any R would be better than the best D candidate available. We need jobs and fiscal responsibility which entails less government and governmental interference. We don't need increased "Santa Claus" enticement that increases the welfare state, and hurts middle-class America!

Right, less government interference EXCEPT when it comes to personal choices such as reproduction and marriage partner and shoving religion down your throat via state sanctioned mandates from God http://www.politicalforum.com/polit...ou-know-david-lane-every-american-should.html

Thus the reason the GOP can (and will) nominate a "RINO"...and have absolutely no fear of losing your vote.

Under Republicon Bush we lost thousands of jobs every month while his war provided billions in corporate welfare to the wealthy elites.

Under Obama the economy has expanded with hundreds of thousands of jobs created every month.

Therefore, if you are smart, VOTE DEMOCRAT.

That logo move ("Jeb!") is a clear sign that his internal polling show that being linked to his brother is still a huge drag on his candidacy.

Expect his opponents to rarely call him "Jeb"....instead it will be "Mr. BUSH" and "Governor BUSH"....as well of course as bringing up "amnesty."

But it will be to no avail.....Jeb! will use his campaign war-chest to buy TONS of negative TV ads to destroy anybody who gets "too close" to him in a Primary state and keep the field divided among 4-5 "pure conservatives"...

so that he wins on plurality, until it becomes too late for the Far Right to rally behind ONE candidate....and Jeb! becomes inevitable.

We do believe in "state's rights," and allowing them to decide what they want.
We believe in reproduction, especially to allow millions of unborn babies to be born rather than slaughtered. We believe marriage is between a man and woman only, although most of us can tolerate legal unions of homos.
We don't shove religion down throats, but we do recognize this country was founded on Judeo-Christian principles.

It must suck to be a liberal, and wrong most of the time!

Disprove his statements with facts. Just saying "Nuh-huh!" doesn't cut it.
