I disagree, if you close the economy so long that jobs are gone and the dollar is de- valued you will create chaos

sorry bro but human lives are more important than dollars.

we can always recover from a Recession, we cannot bring back the dead.

"The investigators found a reversal in the decline in suicides in the European Union that coincided with the beginning of the economic crisis in 2007. By 2009, suicides had increased by 6.5 percent."

"An analysis of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) data of more than 2 million non-natural deaths in the US since 1980 reveals a positive correlation with unemployment levels."

    https://www.nytimes.com/1991/10/14/us/farmer-suicide-rate-swells-in-1980-s-study-says.html

    "
The CDC researchers examined U.S. suicide statistics from 1928, right before the Great Depression (1929-1932), until 2007, the start of the Great Recession (2007-2009). They found that those rates reached a record high during 1932, when there were 22 suicides for every 100,000 people, up from 18 per 100,000 in 1928.

But there were also spikes in suicides at the end of the New Deal (1937-1938) (an economic contraction that occurred after what some economists say was a premature slashing of government spending in an attempt to balance the budget), during the Oil Crisis (1973-1975) and during the Double-dip Recession (1980-1982)."

Absolutely. As usual, though, the obstacle will be politicians and partisan hacks.

If we open too early, we risk infections going up again.

better to be safe and open later, than be sorry and open too early.

Since Cuomo and the other governors had the press conference today about joining forces on opening up their economy, it seems suddenly that many leftist are cheering and clapping them on for wanting to open the economy. It's like stepping into the twilight zone.

It seems like we're regressing as a society. We're more likely to do or not do something based on who says it than if it makes logical sense.

It's like Trump says X and you get half the people who will automatically say no and half who automatically say yes. Almost zero critical thinking and very anti intellectual imo

Democrats trust the doctors and the scientists.

Trump trusts the corporations and his gut.
