There are reasons the wealthy have more money. They took the risks and made the sacrifices to obtain that wealth.

For example, youth A goes to school every day, spends a couple of hours daily on homework and does what it takes to make good grades. Youth B cuts class, hangs out on the corner smoking weed and eventually quits school altogether.
Youth A goes on to college, and grad school. After 12 years of advanced education and spending hundreds of thousands of dollars, he becomes a doctor.
Youth B finds a job flipping burgers, sells a little crack on the side and gets his girlfriend knocked up.
Businessman A opens an office, hires receptionists, nurses and accountants to assist him in operating his office.
Businessman B looks for a position but find no one is hiring dropouts and he is trapped in minimum wage paradise.
Businessman A builds his business, works 12 hour days treating the hundreds of patients who rely on him, pays back all his college loans, employs a dozen people, makes a good living and pays a boat load of taxes.
Businessman B jumps from nothing job to nothing job. He never makes enough to worry about taxes but he gets his share of handouts. He collects welfare, food stamps, medicaid, and public assistance.

The Liberals learn of this and say this A guy is a bunghole, he has piles of money while poor guy B is living in poverty. They feel the right thing to do is take money away from guy A and reward guy B for being a loser.

^^^^Yeah, it's not like it has anything do with inheritance, monopolies, or in some rare occurrences bribing school officials.

It's true that some wealthy individuals are hard workers and have earned their way through hard work but to say that this in anyway represents a majority I find unbelievable or a bit of a stretch especially nowadays.

The wealthy are transient. They move up and down the income quintiles.

You seem affixed to a myth that they are there because of some scam.

Does that mean Trump and Trumplings are not in the 1%?

They didn't pay any tax. I wonder if Trump and Trumplings get food stamps.

They don't have food stamps, the wealthy have people shop groceries for them though.

    Can you cite your claim?

What country are you a citizen of?

Immediately substantiate your claims with citations.

This will make apparent your no doubt truthful arguments.

    Not,

The wealthy paid a much higher percentage of their wealth in taxes fifty years ago, and the country was not the worse for wear.

Right. Tax rates only really affect the wealthy, which is why the Trump tax cuts are not at the top of my list of issues. I am glad the economy is rolling along, but that, in my opinion, has more to do with cutting regulations than cutting taxes.

My number one issue is ending the war of people who self-medicate, AKA the so-called 'war on drugs', and ending mass incarceration of non-violent drug offenders. This is an embarrassment to the country and a violation of inherent rights to privacy on a massive scale.

Only about 20% of millionaires inherited their money. The other 80% made it on their own.

What is a "fair share"? If 1400 people paying more than 70 million isn't fair, what is?

62% of American billionaires are self made. Another 18% used a combination of inheritance and making their own wealth.

I have been an ardent critic in this forum of the U. S. Tax Code for over ten years.

The question I have, which never seems to be adequately or honestly answered is this: do the über-wealthy actually PAY these taxes, or, are they simply in the highest THEORETICAL tax BRACKET? There's a huge difference! And I ask this from the standpoint of being a rock-solid fiscal Conservative with a strong Libertarian leaning!

If you're in a tax bracket that is supposed to pay "x-number" of dollars, but get to escape the full tax which is indicated for that tax bracket, then how is there any justice in the system? When you pose questions like this to tax accountants and tax attorneys, they just laugh! Indeed, the 'big-money boys' employ huge numbers of them to make damned certain that they do NOT ever have to pay their "fair share" in taxation....

The U. S. Tax Code, even after Trump's new version, is still chock-full of shelters, loopholes, write-off's, exclusions, exemptions, deductions, and "carried interest". But for many decades, both "Fat Cat" Republicans AND "Limousine Liberal" Democrats have been laughing all the way to the bank because NONE of them actually pay what they are supposed to pay. We DO need a FLAT-TAX -- but it will never happen!

End all tax deductions and have one tax rate for everyone on every dollar they earn

No one forced their hands to sign the loans. Many knew they couldn't afford the homes. And many were gambling during the flipping boom. But they made those choices. If you don't know what an ARM is and can't absorb the hurt that can result from not getting out in time, you have NO BUSINESS owning a home in the first place.

And that was the point. Democrats were selling a dream, specifically Clinton. Sorry, you don't deserve to own a home. Its not your right as an American. =) You deserve it if you can afford it.
