You should read up, the EU members are kind of like US States.
Mississippi doesn't buy much from China either. Hmm. Maybe a bad example counting Walmart.

I never said they did not, you are the one that tried to minimize our clout

And that has exactly what to do with my statement that the US is 20% of the Chinese market!

You, like Trump, were trying to break up the EU into pieces. It is one piece and it exports as much to China as we do.

    Not for long it isn't.

8 more months and they lose their bragging rights.

They are only "one piece" in name too.
Actually they are 28 seperate countries.

If we compared like to like, EU to NAFTA you would find NAFTA to be the larger.
But hey, what's in a name?

I did nothing but point out that America is 20% of the Chinese market and we have tremendous clout.

Uh-Huh. That's why you listed them separately.

I listed nothing but an online chart showing America is 20% of China's trade which was my point. It's irrelevant what anybody else's share is, we have tremendous clout.

The order you are talking about was not created by America, in fact it was because America took its eyes off the prize that we are in this situation in the first place. The current trade situation is the failure to of America to properly adjust to the post-Cold War world and allow rampant globalization at the expense of the American people...

You are totally out to lunch. It is the world order that AMERICA CREATED. When they and the WEST WON THE FRIGGIN COLD WAR, necessary resets were required, but AMERICA still ruled the roost and did so, right up until Monday, July 16.

The current trade situtation MADE AMERICA great. This dimwitted notion that trade is just a shopping transaction and is not predicated on long term STRATEGIC GOALS plays great with the radical racist right wing fringes and nonracist nationalists, but in the real world, we understand that TRADE is one of the triad of AMERICAN POWER PROJECTION. It isn't a friggin cash register.

AMERICA and the institutions it created, the values it has championed CREATED the greatest friggin nation in the history of human civilization.

    So think keep thinking small.

    Righto mate.

Here is the thing. Times change.
    Dogma is a mistake.

We like free trade when we are the primary exporters for goods. The worlds dominant industrial power. When we have little competition.

But things have changed and so our policies must adapt to the changing scenarios we find ourselves in.

It's not 1945 any more. Other countries compete with America for industrial product.

    Britain invented Football.
    Britain invented cricket.

But inventing it doesn't mean we always win at it. Other countries have adopted our practises and excel at them.
