He's under attack because he turned up the heat and snowflakes are melting faster than the witch did when Dorothy threw water on her.

I believe in a balance of power, not turning the government over to a con man and his thieves.
And since you asked, Hillary is way less crooked and ignorant than tRUmp.

And really particularly the independents. Remember the "independents" that reply to these polls are not normal independents. They are more like our posters here who call themselves independents. Meaning, that the current democratic party is not violent enough or murderous enough for their tastes.

    I actually read the study.

There is more interesting variation when we move our comparison to the different partisan and ideological groups within the 2018 survey. In order to identify these groups, we asked respondents two questions. The first asked which political party the respondent considered themselves a part of. The results showed that 57.2% (95/166) of respondents were Democrats, while 12.7% were Republicans (21/166), 27.1% were Independents (45/166), and 3% (5/166) selected Other as their option.

So... out of a total of 166 people, 95 were democrats and 21 were republican while 50 were "something" else.

So.. we surveyed 166 "scholars". This represents... ready... .000000513% of the population.

Good, lord. This is just stupid news. Some fake news, but mostly just stupid news.

The OP and the article specifically reference the fact that these are scholars, political science professors, who responded to the survey. ****, the title of the article says that "scholars rate him." Why are you now shocked that the survey only includes political science professors?

If you want to take issue with the fact that this crowd is unlikely to have a favorable opinion of Trump ahead of time, why don't you focus on those who are republicans and tell me where he averages, rank wise, among that group.

If you want a presidential approval rating that represents the US population, there are tons over at realclearpolitics.com. He currently sits around 40% approval.

This thread is analogous to someone who walks out of the stadium prior to the Super Bowl because he doesn’t like the way the National Anthem was sung, and claims it was because the game sucked.

Are these liberal scholars by any chance? How can you rate a president as the worst only one year in? And how did Obama get such a high score? He was ineffective at breaking partisanship in Washington and for 6 years or 3/4 of his presidency was unable to get much done with many complaining he wasn't good at working with Congress to get things done and couldn't even nominate a Supreme Court justice in his last year.

Foreign affairs was a disaster under him with Iraq getting taken over by ISIS, Libya thrown into Chaos after Obama's help, Afghanistan overrun with terrorists, North Korea obtaining nuclear weapons, Russia invading Ukraine, and Russia eventually attacking our elections. The economic recovery was the slowest ever and we didn't see any real wage growth or job growth for six years and job growth was slow even afterwards. In addition the national debt doubled under Obama to more than the size of our economy and he left the presidency with a 650 billion dollar deficit that is predicted to keep rising.

Obamacare didn't come close to making healthcare affordable for most people and healthcare costs have continued to rise and tens of millions remain uninsured. He also failed to do anything substantial about money in politics, race relations, gun control, immigration, global warming, and much more. How does a president this ineffective get 8th place out of all presidents ever?

Because those aren't real Republicans, as evidenced by the simple fact that they are political science professors, who are all, in fact, either liberals or RINO's.....

And round and round and round and round and round and round you go.... There is simply no study, no poll, no story, no article, no network, no site that has any criticisms of Trump that can be true... IT'S JUST NOT POSSIBLE that America doesn't love Trump....

Because we are going to ignore that only 21% of the respondents identified as conservative, which in social "scholar" realms means just democrat instead of progressive.

Its a stupid biased article, based on a survey of a tiny fraction of our society in an industry that is hugely progressive. Why even hold it up, its stupid.

Because I have no interest in playing partisan fake news games. It's a dumb exercise that proves no purpose other than to be a cheerleader for one side or the other. The entire premise of the study doesn't even make sense, so clearly the results mean squat ****.

Here is the difference between me and you. I am capable of understanding that ANY poll, by any group, is hugely capable of manipulation in order to provide the results desired. Look at the polls up to the election, Hillary was going to win in a landslide, remember?

The only poll that matters is the one at the election booth.

The poll referenced in the OP is even worse, because it doesn't even try to hide how biased it is.

What you don't seem to know is the difference between a survey and a poll....
