Can you find one positive article about Trump or his policies and actions from the first 3 years, FOX excluded.

Not even a 'win', more like common sense. It's why I said this never should've happened at all. We don't have political courts, we never should pretend to be a political court. That we pretended, smears the Senate. It's like adding injuries to January 6th.

Clearly Washington doesn't know about damage control. Let the DOJ take it from here.

There's maybe one or two. 95% of the news coverage by MSNBC and CNN was negative last I looked.

To be clear, I don't even WANT Trump to ever run again. He would be as old as Biden is now if he did, and that's just too damned OLD for a job as demanding as that.

Hint: Keep your eye on Biden in the coming months and you will almost certainly see what I mean!

There is not a consensus about that. He was impeached while president. Legal scholars disagree on whether or not the trial was constitutional.

Lincoln should have let the South secede? Are you okay with this...?

I think we could have some states secede. They
You're going to replace the Federal Reserve System with what?

The United States determined it wasn't in its interest to allow Germany to become a strong rival by dominating Europe. That's why we got involved.
Had we faced Germany without either the Soviet Union or the British Empire as allies, we would have faced a powerful, mortal enemy in Germany. FDR pushed for war by cutting off Japan's oil supply.
Yes, LBJ screwed up. He got us bogged down in Asian war and lied to get us involved.
Why would you suggest we impeach dead people?

You suggested we impeach former presidents. Trump wasn't impeached after he left office. That was my main point.

Remember of course this result was pretty much a foregone conclusion before the impeachment hearing even commenced. The Democrats never had the numbers to convict and they knew that going in. Only the most wide eyed optimist would have though he was ever going to get convicted.

What it did do however was let the Dems lay out in one nice neat package all the details of Trump's interactions with the his most 'ardent' supporters in a timeline from beginning to end so that Americans as a whole can follow the breadcrumbs reach their own conclusions. And that evidence package is going to follow Trump around like a bad smell from now on all the way to through the next election. TV, radio, the internet, it will be there shadowing him into his next run for the Presidency. And the Republican Party knows this as well as he does, what to do?.

The Senate trials can take place, according to Democrats, after the president has left office, PROVIDED that the House had impeached the president while still in office. So, nice try, but not good enough (just like the House Impeachment Managers).

Honestly, though, I agree with your suggestions of Wilson (who shares both personal & historical similarities with Trump-- or hadn't you noticed?) and Johnson for our Hall of Shame, largely for the same reasons, though I would certainly include Wilson's ignoring of the last pandemic, the so-called, "Spanish Flu," among his offenses. As for Abraham Lincoln, I have criticism for him as well, but, as he is one of the most admired of all presidents, even pretending that impeachment was allowable, it would be a fool's errand to try. Perhaps make an interesting thread, though.

But, as far as FDR goes, he saved our country, a couple of times, and the world, to boot. Regardless of anything negative-- and pretty much all our presidents have negatives mixed in with whatever their individual positives-- he, along with Washington, & Jefferson-- did you realize that the Louisiana Purchase wasn't necessarily legal for him to make?-- was among our 3 greatest Presidents.

Sure he lost the election but he still got more votes than any sitting President in history and any Republican in history. Once again, like it or not that's pretty significant and does not exactly mesh well with the narrative that his name is toxic. That's even more impressive given the fact that yes the media is absolutely against Trump and he is bombarded with negative press on a 24/7 basis. Admittedly some deserving and some not. But turn on the news at any point from late 2016 to 2021 and the average person would be wondering how Trump's approval rating ever got above 2% given the way he is portrayed.

Kinda hard to label a name as being "toxic" from an electability standpoint when that name put up numbers of that magnitude during last election....If the name "Trump" is toxic from an electability standpoint then "Republican" is stage 4 cancer because there isn't a single Republican on planet Earth right now that has anywhere near the popularity within the party as Trump. When I say the "party" I don't mean the elected officials, I mean the People of the Republican party.

In layman's terms, if a Republican wants to win anything in politics in then next few years then it would do them way more good to have Trump in their corner than not. Like it or not Trump has A LOT of supporters and voters, admittedly nearly to the point of it being hive like and they are registered Republican voters right now and will remain so until they are given somewhere else to go.

If someone can point me towards a Republican out there who they believe could out perform Trump from a numbers standpoint in an election then I'd be glad to hear it. If not then he can't exactly be toxic from an electability standpoint.

Mitch said he did it. No one buys Trump's BS.
Congress had their say about Trump.

Now, on to fix the economy and get shots in folks' arms.

I just found out and I find this hard to believe. Trump was still the boss of the Republicans and those that are Trump followers. It's their day to celebrate and rightfully so. I guress the one good thing is that Trump is off Twitter for good.

Yeah but your post made it seem like you were saying he literally couldn't be convicted because he was no longer the sitting President. That's not the same as the OJ thing.
