"Trump's Wall" has got to be one of the Biggest JOKES in American Political History.

NOBODY ever actually believed that Trump was going to build the "Wall" that he promised in 2016.
(And, NOBODY ever actually believed that "Mexico would pay for it").

In 20 Years, the footage of people chanting "Build the Wall" (at 2016 Campaign Rallies) will be the stuff of Historical Comedy.

It would take the proper tools (heavy and electric powered) and a long time to get this done.

As BP has stated, this allows them more time to get to these trouble areas.

 

I've spent decades camping, shooting, and off roading on the border, this is a massive step up.

 

The border is manned, in critical locations.

The wall is an adjunct to that.

BTW-its manned by Border Patrol who the democrats want to abolish.

 

And we will continue to do so as long as they are good neighbors. Its currently a failed narco state.

The govt arrested El Chapo's son a few weeks back, the cartels broke into the jails, armed their cartel pals, surrounded the city he was imprisoned in-and started rounding up the families of the mayor, police etc to execute-the Mexican govt surrendered El Chapo's son.

The only "good" news is some states have developed an armed militia of citizens to fight the cartels and do the protection that the police wont.

As I understand it, this is an influence from the US.

Wrong. You will notice tourism is but a shell of what it once was-in the past cartels generally left resort towns alone to keep a low profile. Now they hang bodies from bridges, after their skin has been removed.

We in the US make the mistake of thinking their police are the equivalent of Americas. Turns out their options are to join a cartel, where at least others might have your back-or to go the "honest' route where ALL the cartels want you dead.

Its truly a failed state, where the cartels call the shots.

If you are 45min, I could understand why few people in your area go. That said, and back to the topic, there is a Mexican govt that is in charge, but it needs work. Your notion it is a free-for-all, is just BS, we would know at the border. Everyone from Mexico would be trying to cross over.
