really the issue with these attempts at far-right freeze peach twitter alternatives is that the chief reason far-right activists go onto social networks in the first place is to debate/harass/offend liberals. when there aren't any liberals to debate/harass/offend they don't get any value out of social media because they Need to have an enemy to feel like they have value. that's why ultimately they always Will come crawling back to twitter

Nailed it. You can even see that happen here. Ever see those threads on here started by a right-winger where only other right-wingers are responding? Before long there's always someone who says something along the lines of "Looks like the liberals are ignoring this thread".

I'll just add that the same motivation drives many left-wingers too(and I've seen the same comment in my example used here in left-wing threads with no right-wing responses).

It's the reactions people want. Echo chambers are great for personal validation, but they get boring. And with a site like Trump's whose purpose is to direct worshipers to him, that fact has got to be even more pronounced and tangible. Now we'll see how much of his supporters actually like HIM or just like the way he inflames their political opponents.

HOWEVER, his site will also draw liberals looking for arguments too. If it gets enough of them, it will recreate the twitter experience.

bestie it literally isn't different. by virtue of popularity any social network is going to be a likely target for hackers so they all have to pay special attention to network security. and any additional attention truth social might get as a result of it being launched by trump is offset by the fact that it's much smaller and less valuable a target than e.g. twitter.

Yeah, Trump acting like an attention-starved child and Biden helping a blind guy out really says a lot about both of them, I guess. A better contrast would have been to show the video of Biden with the blind guy and then Trump talking about seeing an 80-year-old man falling off of a stage and turning away in disgust instead of helping him because he thought the blood was gross.

You are probably the first business person I've heard actually complement Trump's executive skills. You'll probably be the last. No amount of money would make me work for that fraudulent, abusive maniac.

Should or when they iron out most of the major technical issues, it will be just another flavor of Twitter.

If one goes back in time, 30 yrs, these "sites" were called Bulletin Boards. Those too had a bunch of nuts posting nonsense.

Trump's site in the end, will be one more of those. If people choose that site, so be it.

I don't think it will even get that far. The target audience for this site was rightwing trolls . . . who are getting bored because there is no one on the site to troll. There's no opportunity to "own the libs."

They can always host it themselves . . . on their own servers . . . like pretty much every other social media site. And I've never heard of routers blocking social media sites. Not even sure how they'd accomplish that.

Too bad you aren’t in on the joke! But if you laugh at not getting it still, even more people are laughing!

I'm not even sure he's created an account, but I know he isn't in any way active on the site. It's part of his toxic ego. He doesn't want to join until after it is already successful, yet him joining and being active would be the closest they could get the site to being successful.

If so, then it is a bad Twitter knock off sans Trump, where do I sign up. :)

I've been tempted to join just to see how long it took me to get booted for making even the most mild criticisms of Trump. From what I've read, the first person to get banned did so by doing nothing more than registering "David Nunes' Cow" as their name.

Yeah, other posters have had their tweets removed or flagged due to content. As I said, a knock off.

There certainly was NO Joke in the Post that I responded to.
A Picture of a White Flag?
And, the offering up of a surrender?
    What "Joke"?:bored:

You say that as a joke, but it probably is their best shot. What else are they going to talk about?.....policy? Their record while in power beginning jan 2021?

    Really....what's their alternative?

The social network is doing fine, this is just an irrational push of propaganda by the left, nor is Trump at all concerned and certainly not “blowing a gasket” lmao. Making mountains of molehills lol.

lol par for the course for the radical left.

Unlike 8th graders, I don't need a media-mommy to shield me from content. I don't consume social media products. He does know how to manipulate others into selling his brand free of charge. He appreciates you getting the word out

I am not on any social media sites and I don't understand why anybody (outside 8th graders) would be.

I am interested in this specific topic because many Trump supporters defended him trying to get laws passed that would essentially take away a site owner's authority to suspend and/or ban users that violate their terms of use/terms of service. That is an anti-American as one can get but they've stood behind that because Trump seems to be infallible. Naturally, it makes sense for him to have his own space where he can make the rules.

Also, this is the 3rd or 4th attempt and that just seems strange to me. Mike Lindell started his (named "Frank" IIRC) and it also went bust. It's hard to believe there are two self-proclaimed business gurus and they can't get the right people to get a forum up and running? I would imagine there have to be some designers that supported Trump. Some of them can surely get together and make this happen for him. It's all just too bizarre.

I understand why people are on social media. For those not consumed with politics, it can be a good way of sharing happy times with those they care about.

As far as media giants using their reach for political reasons, its their company, so they can do whatever they want. Their profits should have to be reported to the FEC.

He may not have twitter, but he has an army of people helping get his message out there. You may get a thank you note!

Someday, his supporters will finally realize that everything trump touches turns to ****.
It will be a painful realization but it’s necessary before the healing can begin.

Not to rain on your parade, but you are on one right now, albeit a politically flavored one.
Political Forum is just a specific type of social media.
