I disagree. If a person is my friend, they know what's going on in my life without me updating them every 4 seconds. Actually, I did have a FaceBook account but deleted it after my divorce so I wasn't stuck in the craziness with all the people complicit in what went down. I do go look sometimes though because my ex won't include in me in anything and I never get updates or photos since the kids were kidnapped (about 5 years ago now) but I never post or delve further than that.

I was talking about Trump urging DeSantis to write a law that politicians can't be banned from social media. I would have expected Americans to stand on the side of the business like people sometimes do when a company refuses to provide services to an interested customer/client because of their race, religion, sexuality, etc.. So I was surprised to see so many defend the encroachment on the site owner's terms.

I was also shocked when people didn't care about all the Capitol officers that were mob attacked. It never, ever would have occurred to me that our President (ANY) would do nothing to help law enforcement or his supporters would shrug off him doing nothing for them. I was stunned when they defended the attackers because, like the aforementioned example, the *usual* position is that every cop has been justified in shooting whomever they shot and those victims were blamed for being uncooperative or combative with the officer usually without any physical contact. It's still shocking to me how the tide just turns like that. I'm glad I'm not a gambler. I would have lost the farm on that. I still can't believe it.

He does. I know one guy that was at the riot and he is one of the conduits to getting Trump's statements out there. That's why it's so strange to me that he's having such a hard time getting his own social media site up and running. There are clearly people that will beat up cops and threaten our seated-VP and that seems outrageously difficult to reconcile.

It only stands to reason there should be other supporters that know how to do that kind of thing. I would even guess that some would be willing to do it for free just to have their name associated with his. I know there was a campaign to buy pillows from Lindell simply because he supported Trump's Big Lie. If you can sell $50 pillows to people that have pillows or sell a widespread election fraud lie after ANNOUNCING your own commission did not find widespread election fraud...you can find a competent social media site designer.

Academics need to consider a new and updated definition. The average radical left winger in the US would not be able to define any of those terms.
