Oh, I recognize it, and thank you for your insight. Yes, I've been through a few of these bubbles. When they burst, it is not pretty.

The reason I mentioned it is because, like everything else about Trump, his admirers are being misled by the stock market boom. It is based entirely on promises ... or hot air, whichever you prefer.

The market is running on euphoria. It will correct. The sooner the better.

"Article" huh? I think you're greatly overestimating your own drivel.

All you did was make a bunch of claims prognosticating some dystonian future without a shred of supporting documentation.

I didn't reply to the "substance" of your "article" because there is none.

Your first claim about Trump is simply false, as America very much supports his policies and his actions.

    http://www.politico.com/story/2017/02/donald-trump-popularity-polling-234630

Polls told us he'd never be president. How'd that work out for you?

The rest of your "article" is conjecture on tariffs with Mexico. Mexico cannot win a trade war with the US, sorry. They don't have the leverage.

Will the fact that the right direction/wrong track average shot up 6 points in one month since the inauguration day give you a certain amount of satisfaction? The americans must be so taken by Trump that more of them think the country is on the right track :D

Considering who benefits and who loses when corrections come, I am a skeptic who thinks the markets are running on something other than euphoria.

I am and I am. I am loaded heavy into emerging market funds mostly just because I distrust most Wall Street stock prices at least until the next great recession comes. I still do some quick ins and outs from time to time. I put most of my money into real estate though.

You are actually expecting that most Trump voters will come to realize that they really missed an opportunity by not voting for Hillary?

Look, it was the Flight 93 election. Trump is a gamble, but not trying to rush the cockpit was a worse option.

While it is a bit soon to be determining if his current approval rating will be consistent with the entirety of his presidency, his idea of raising tariffs is easily his worst idea that could realistically be implemented. It's one of those ideas that is bound to reveal itself in due time, he'll either listen to what essentially every economist is suggesting and change his position on raising tariffs, or he'll attempt to this idea only to see it inevitably fail.

Did you seriously just present a poll showing that 35% of Americans believe Trump will bring positive change to make your argument?

It would be fine and acceptable,If Trump made himself a con man because of his drive to serve
but never a con man who prosper his self interest.

Actually 36% and yes, you can say that,... noting that just 17% share the OP's negative and clearly fringe opinion. That's still better than 2 to 1 ratio, huge margin in Trump's favor, right?

"But, let's face it, you got taken in by the best, a quintessential con man. At this point in his administration Trump has the lowest approval rating of any President in American history. Wake up, people. You bet on the wrong horse. Middle class and blue collar workers who voted for him will find that out in about a year."

Nice try......Reminds of all the news pundits laughing about the prospect Trump was going nowhere in the primaries, then nowhere in the general election. Yeah they knew it all and they had the opinion polls to back them up. Aren't you tired of losing? You need to change your motiff. Like Newt said, most on the left are not just victims of "fake news". It's much deeper than that. It's "fake education".

That's just counting those who believe he will bring significant change, there are also those who do not believe he will bring significant change. You're dividing the numbers twice to create the stats that you like, it's disingenuous. The president's current approval rating is somewhere between the the low 40% and high 30% range, the number is obviously more significant than the 17% you claim. You're taking a stat of 57% of polled Americans who believe Trump will bring significant change, then focusing on a fraction within that fraction, and in the end the best number you could come up with represented just 35% of people polled.

The fact that you have to play this logical limbo to create a positive statistic speaks for itself.

Makes me wonder if Shanks was intelligent enough or well heeled enough to do as you did? I never heard you protest you are too wealthy.

The minority of USA citizens (the 45.9%, of those who chose to participate, who voted for Trump) clearly don't care that they got duped.

At this point, their obsessive defense of Trump has morphed into Stockholm Syndrome.

He has been there a month. I don't rush to conclusions.

Say, I notice you are in a rather lackluster economy. Did you ever consider moving where the economy is better for you?

Do you honestly think Gov. Jerry Brown holds office due to a deep love to serve this state?

Brown might get two pensions from CA since he was governor two different times due to a law change.

He probably has the mayors pension of Oakland to count on. He has held so many elective offices, each offering him a pension, he might bring in $20,000 per month or more.

You brought up Obama so when we compare, don't start complaining please.

So you are a loyal Politico fan it looks like.

We long knew Obama ruled as if he were a dictator. Most of the Trump EOs are unwinding Obama.

I believe it took off a lot more under Obama. Darned if I recall you running Obama down over his stock market gains.

Enlighten me when you ranted against Obama over the stock market.

    agree.

Its not an overnight process but it will come in time, i'm willing to be patient. It must be a collective effort from top down and bottom up, we need community boosterism along with import/export equality and unfortunately tariffs are the really only predictable solution. We really are at a disadvantage out there.

the market bounce has been wonderful, made a very nice chunk recently but will continue to watch it closely I have a lot at stake there.

I know the deficit has been trending down with a blip in 2016 but I hate comparing today's numbers with 2008-2012 which were so dam ugly that it makes 2002-2007 look fantastic by comparison. We still have a long way to go just to hit zero which would be a good start. Lots of budget complications coming, will be interesting to see where the cuts will go and to what extent.

locally we've been on an up-trend for a couple years now already and I think we're going to continue in the right direction, can't speak for all area's, rural X isn't quite as attractive as my zip code right now, they cant compete.

I think the Daily Kos has taken over some folk's brains...

"Trump's 'forgotten Americans' will get lower taxes on the rich and higher income inequality"

The OP is straight out of Democrat/leftist propaganda. I guess it's easier not to think for themselves.

Frankly I see that had Hillary won, the nation would be passengers with a dead pilot. She has never been competent. She really made one heck of a mess at State Department. She spent much of her time defending what she did.
